Icelandic elections today. lol that the "Left Green" party leads a government coalition with the right is anybody up on the election in Iceland? Is their PM as much as a succ lib as this sounds or are the politics of Iceland a bit more complicated than that?

I mean we've also been bullying Greece. No one cares about Greece. As long as you don't bully Germany too much there seems to be little reason to expect the EU won't eat every shitsandwich they get served. At least the Americans seem not worried about publicly loving over France. In my eyes NATO has three real functions: Sell US garbage. Keep Europe from developing independent capababilities. Keep it easy to slot a grab bag of EU countries into the next Coalition of the Willing. None of those functions are negatively affected by Turkey's membership.

I had a german foreign exchange student in '99 who got his license here in texas because even for his somewhat wealthy family he said it was really expensive and a big hassle

i say swears online posted:I had a german foreign exchange student in '99 who got his license here in texas because even for his somewhat wealthy family he said it was really expensive and a big hassle us states and eu countries have varying license exchange agreements. it's not uniform though and various countries have agreements with various states: sometimes you can straight up exchange one license for another, other times it just lets you skip the instructional requirements and just take the road test, and in some cases there's no agreement at all, so even if you've been driving for 20 years you basically have to start over as a complete beginner. texas and germany have an agreement where you can just surrender one license in exchange for the other, no tests of any sort required the funny thing is that, even if you have to do the whole thing the long way, you can still drive around on your old license with the international driving permit during the process. you could fail the driving test, get into your car and drive right back home The_Franz has issued a correction as of 18:06 on Oct 1, 2021 |
