Alright, I'm gonna need a little background on this. I thought I understood the basics behind NFTs (you gain exclusive ownership of a digital product or something like that), and that was dumb for a bunch of reasons but at least vaguely logical. How did we go from that to deciding exclusive rights to some DeviantArt Commissions were worth five figures???

This time the idiot is social media, and today it is Instagram! Whilst not a fancy official report (albeit in partnership with the University of Michigan), it seems that there’s a bit of a bias as to what is removed from IG and as to why. No IP anything whatsoever allowing you to prevent others from using it for anything. What you get is a link on the blockchain with your name next to it, which points to a URL where said jpeg is currently at. The jpeg itself is not on the blockchain, just the URL.
