we can come up with bleak fantasy-dystopia sounding names for newly climate-devastated regions based on what flavour of destruction they incur, I plan on calling the soggy remains of california "the depths of hubris" and because the internet is still working we can share this with others all over the globe!

All necessities, provided. All anxieties, tranquilized. All boredom, amused.
Your shittiness scales with how big of a parasite you are - so since boomers still hold most of the wealth and power on the planet then it still makes them the ongoing worst.

Bezos and others might not be boomers individually, but even their wealth and power doesn't compare to the collective of ghoulish boomers that pay the checks and protect the global capitalist system as it is. And then a lot of these boomers raised these failsons in the first place, so gently caress them all the more.

I don't think the system is going to last long enough for young generations to even imitate the boomers. But with the condition of the planet and countries ceasing to exist year by year, we could very well see something much worse with the younger generations. It depends on how many still want to cling to the death cult of capitalism and tribal border fights.

Any way it ends up, it's going to be full of "lol, lmao". We're guaranteed at least that much.

No they are just arbitrary buckets humans thought up like literally every categorization. This is kinda reflective of that GMO argument. Capitalism inherently seeks to subvert everything man creates to its own ends, but that doesn't make it the creator.

i took exactly one vacation where i flew somewhere as an adult, and it was to go diving in cozumel. the irony of contributing to the destruction of the thing you're going to see by visiting it has never been lost on me and i felt kinda guilty about it for a long time, but now i'm just glad i saw that before it's gone

This is not rational. The rational thing is to organize and take control of political systems to enact the changes we need.

Depression is a natural response, but that doesn't make it a rational response. The media forces that stoke and promote a depressive response are extremely dangerous. Don't give in to that poo poo. Have some fight in you.

Better things are possible. They're happening right now. For example, just think of how much worse we'd be if Trump was still in office.

As long as people are doing something, anything, then it means we can hold out hope just a little longer.

Gen Z is more puritanical but disguising it, so that's loving annoying (Shaming teenagers for making mistakes, not being sex positive and so on and so forth. You will never, ever get me to care if a 21 year old + is dating somebody five or ten or fifteen years older. Calling that shirt grooming is insane, and takes away from actual victims of grooming). I think because Z knows they are hosed and there's no hope, so they cling to insane and false morality as a way of feeling like they have some desperate control.

I think the gen right below them might be fun though. By the time they come of adulthood (so ten years?) they know it's pointless and will just make it into a big party as we all burn. That's a group I could smoke a joint with.

But gen X and boomers are always the worst.

Actually that is the rational thing but not to prevent climate disaster or anything, just to not suffer needlessly as we die. Not everything is written in stone, we can at least make the hospice beds nicer.

"Threads" wasn't the scariest British film about nuclear war. That would be the completely serious Home Office one where they profiled several different "example" couples around the city constructing different kinds of shelters from hasty to hardened. In one case, the "under the stairs" shelter is teased in the sense of "there may be fires in unprotected houses nearby, but Joy and Eddard should survive...at least, for seventeen seconds."

It concludes with "this was just a profile of a single one-megaton airburst over the center of London. In an actual war scenario, there would be up to 30 bombs dropped on the Metropolitan area."
