A good fan sub is a special thing but fan subbing is  nowadays because Crunchyroll and Funimation pump them out quick.

I like those Sailor Moon fansubs where the subtitles are specifically colored for whatever character is talking on screen. Never gonna see that level of dedication in an official release.

Vanitas, Kageki Shoujo, Aquatope, and Tsukimichi were all pretty good in their own way. Also the second season of Iruma was fantastic and drat do I love that show for being so wholesome

Back when Soul Eater was airing the fansubber gave every character a different font, with the result that some characters' dialogue was borderline unreadable. Genius!

Sonny Boy was very good in a very specific way and it might not be for everybody but I enjoyed it a lot. It falls into the vibes show category.
