They don't feel all that similar to me. Its like saying they should recast T'Challa because they did recast Rhodey. They're significantly different circumstances with different possible reactions. But its certainly possible that they just didn't want to draw attention or further muddy things by losing two of the stars of their first film (three counting Michael B Jordan). Its also entirely possible they just felt it could blow over especially since she at least seemed to shut up after that initial thing. If Wright is causing some kind of problems on set then that math probably changes but its mostly just a one line blurb at the moment so who knows? Its also entirely possible that with T'Challa gone they could just kind of phase Shuri and that family out of the picture if they're so inclined.

They could boot Edgar Wright because they were (mistakenly) confident they knew how to wrangle nerds back into theaters, but they might not be confident they can do the same for Wakanda Forever without Boseman and with Wright raising hell. Like when Eddie becomes Venom again after Flash Thompson he feels inferior because Flash was so much better at being Venom and made the symbiote so much happier and it's not even subtext that it's written as a dude feeling insecure someone else hosed his ex better. They have a wildly co-dependent and destructive relationship. And then Flash became a massive dragon and rose from the dead, so you know......really had to work to make Eddie feel relevant there.

Way more entertaining than the movie itself to be fair though, especially one of my cousins being shocked/impressed/horrified by the majini mandible mouth.

Eh, specious comparisons that have no value outside of a brief laugh are Last Week Tonight's bread-and-butter. I'm not even saying that as a knock against LWT, to be clear. e: Anyway, I bought tickets for Eternals because they went up today but I can't help but feel they've severely mismarketed this. I still don't have a good feel for whatever hook the story has. I'm sure it won't fail, but it's weird.

Its purely guesswork but I kind of am assuming/hoping Black Knight is there in part to be like "what the gently caress, guys?" And then the movie ends with them all going, "yeah, ok, maybe we should have done something all those times people were in danger. Our bad. Lets be heroes now." Like some kind of WW in BvS thing or something.
