Menacing tone, constant use of distortion, but somehow I find it doesn't sound sterile, inhuman, or overly repetitive the way this style of music usually does. His vocals, clumsy as they are (or likely for that reason), probably have a lot to do with it

Lol Scary Bitches are great for that sort of cheese. Killing Miranda were another band who were mostly pretty silly. (And quite nice/chill humans.) Note: silly in a "let's make a song joking about necrophilia" way, not "let's do ironic sunshine and rainbows". Inkubus Sukkubus are great - I saw them play in London in 2002, and the show drew in a crowd of what could best be described as pagan-goths from the countryside.

drat didnt even know there were different goths. i guess witchy goth. im located in chicago. and im willing to spend money but have probably never spent more than 200 on a single article cuz it seems crazy to drop heavy money on clothes but i do like stuff that lasts so maybe i should be spending more

Learn basic sewing and how to dye clothing (if you don’t already). Then buy new.
