Europe can't support it's own football league but if there are three to four actual NFL games across the continent per year it will sell out no matter where the games are held. There are plenty of European NFL fans that are willing to travel to Germany or London or whatever.

On paper we are strong or solid everywhere except the very middle of the field. Peters injury hurts bad. But I blame the coaching of Martindale and especially that imbecile Rob Ryan. No way our D should be as bad as it is.

The Ravens D is a mixed bag with some very exploitable holes for smart coaches. On the other hand every unit of the Chiefs defense seems bad.

It's pretty easy to see when Queen is just a black hole of suckage in the middle of the field.

The schedule helps the Ravens too, compared to the Chiefs. Raiders, Chiefs, Broncos, Lions, and Colts (with 4 of those being one score games decided on the last play of the game) vs Browns, Ravens, Chargers, Eagles, Bills.

It'll be a lot more fun if the Ravens can get healthy. Derrick Wolfe on the D-line, Deshon Elliot at safety, Nick Boyle at TE and one of Watkins or Bateman at WR would all make a big difference. Of course if I'm going to dream might as well add a fully healthy Ronnie Stanley to the mix.

The O/U on Chargers-Ravens right now is 51 which with how both QBs are playing seems laughably low.

Wolfe is still on short term IR and can't play this week.

Not hopeful on Boyle but Tyre Phillips is a guy we need back in a big way, especially after seeing Cleveland leave on the cart last night. Phillips can play tackle badly and guard.. well, badly, but less so

I think Gus is a worse loss than even Dobbins. With the bad run blocking we really cant even reliably get 2-3 yards on a single carry. Really messes us up and ruins our ability to sustain drives and control games.

It's hard to say. You're right about what Edwards could do for short yardage situations but the explosive plays and receiving ability of Dobbins are also badly missed. There were a few passes to Freeman last night that went for 8 or so yards simply because no one was around him. If JK got those opportunities they would be TDs. And it's not like Dobbins is a bad runner between the tackles either.

I just think our passing scheming has improved to compensate quite a bit for the explosiveness we lost with Dobbins. But nothing can replace what Edwards brought.

Edwards and Jackson have played well off each other in the run game from the very beginning. IIRC they first began starting around the very same time.

If we do trade for a back it should def be some sort of short yardage specialist.

There are about 150,000 fewer US troops in Germany than there was during the existence of NFL Europe.
