Coldplay do get dunked on a bit more than they deserve. Including by me. Like their early stuff was really good pop, but "serious rock music fans" (like me) wrote them off for not rocking hard enough. Which feels pretty dumb in hindsight, especially since basically all of the rock bands from that era are long gone now. There was some fantastic songcraft going on there. That being said, I'm not sure they're due for a late career redemption, either. The collaborations feel pretty desperate and uninspired. I do like that one really long song they released a few weeks ago, but it's obvious the whole album won't be like that.

So was Death Cab, (in Seattle!) and Snow patrol. But there’s an… it factor Coldplay had that is something truly special. Taylor is still on my list of people I have not seen live and really need to though. Going to shill out a lot for good seats when it’s safer she’s touring again.

Can’t speak for Coldplay’s stage presence but certainly all of their songs bar maybe three or four are extremely bad and boring. Yellow is still great though.

My favorite song of theirs was Adventure of a Lifetime, if only because I'm a sucker for rock bands with a disco groove It's the kind of thing Maroon 5 used to do well, at least until they started sucking harder than the worlds' strongest vacuum cleaner.

Hello had more elements to a SMASH single - iconic intro ( “Hello, It’s me” ) , bridge that leads to a powerful chorus. This song doesn’t have a lot of memorable moments- it’s just Adele in her element, and you won’t get too many people complaining about it. I don’t think Adele really needs to reinvent herself, what she does, she does remarkably well. Timeless is how I’d describe her music.
