Reminds me of MST3K: Wikipedia on Crow_T._Robot posted:Many first-time viewers of the series are confused by Crow's appearance during the movie segments. Only the outline of his head can be seen, and (due to multistable perception) it can appear as if Crow is facing toward the viewer. This phenomenon was addressed in The Mystery Science Theater 3000 Amazing Colossal Episode Guide with illustrations comparing Crow to a Necker cube.[4]

ok, so here's my logic. She is turning in a counterclockwise (left to right) direction. Thought the fact that it is a point map creates the illusion of ambiguous direction, if you look at her little arm stump, there is clearly one point in the rotation where it is large and one where it is smaller. When she appears to be turning right to left, the little stump seems to expand on the far side of her and contract when it's close up. Obviously this is wrong, so the actual answer is left to right, because then the stump behaves as it should. The kick is obviously the best part, but the way he lands and just keeps running without any stumbling is so drat smooth.

I slammed my right foot down on the ground instinctually when I noticed the flashing Check Engine light. When I was 16 or so I ignored that light for about a week because I was waiting to get paid and wound up throwing a rod on my way to work to pick up my check... Never making that mistake again!

The problem with the check engine light is that it can go on for stupid things. Like I had it go on once because the car decided something was wrong with my gas cap.

muscles like this! posted:The problem with the check engine light is that it can go on for stupid things. Like I had it go on once because the car decided something was wrong with my gas cap. That's part of the emissions control, the gas cap is supposed to seal and prevent fuel vapors from leaking into the atmosphere. So if the system detects a failed seal, you get a warning. Get an ODB reader, they're pretty good at letting you know whether the light's on for a reason worth taking it to the shop. On my car I had a whole Christmas tree light up: ABS, collision detection, airbag, traction control, power steering, all of that poo poo stopped working. Problem's a $50 wheel speed sensor.

If it's blinking, it's not a stupid thing and you should stop immediately. Otherwise it can be a million dumb things that could be safe to ignore for years

Hirayuki posted:Coincidentally, my Honda has begun this week to complain about the gas cap, which is fine (as far as I can tell). I'd started thinking of the CHECK GAS CAP warning as the new check engine light. (It did the same thing right after we bought it; we had to take it back to the dealer to get the error cleared.) Are you tightening the cap a few clicks? If you are, and it's a new car and it's doing that, go to the dealer and have them replace the cap. If it's not making a good seal it kinda messes with the emissions stuff.
