I don't really see the point in doing something where you're not going to announce any new games, hopefully they at least have something in store for backwards compatibility support. Otherwise I really don't think anyone cares about the history of Xbox. I've been with Xbox since day 1, and I really don't care about the history of Xbox other than to remember with rose tinted glasses a handful of old games.

I would be shocked if they don't announce new FPS boost or backward compatible games as part of this event. We know that there's something going on in the backend with potential new original Xbox games, and we also have resolution boost as a feature they talked about last year but haven't seen again since.

After getting the PS4 version some time back and finding it extremely wanting, I’ve been playing We Happy Few on Game Pass on my Series X in the hope that the technological superiority of the console will minimise prior shortcomings, which it does. I’ve never ever been so utterly enthralled by the setting, story, characters and writing of a game only to have the gameplay itself totally gently caress everything up. If they’d gone for an immersive sim style instead of an open world survival game this would have been a beloved if slightly janky classic.

Yeah just have some boost/BC news in amongst the retrospective stuff then end with a Halo Infinite campaign trailer and it seems like a fine event.

I will say that it has a very aggressive motion blur you can turn on that may help. My wife was able to play the game with zero problems and she also gets sick with most first-person games.

They had GPU cards at Costco today but it was only like a ten dollar discount vs the monthly rate. It doesn't even look like they stock XBL gold cards anymore, at least at my local Costco. No consoles of any kind on hand either.

Its a growth target through June. Its bad they missed it, obviously, but 37% growth is on ??? so we have no idea what it means. They also would have made this goal assuming Halo would launch during the year so I've got a feeling internally there is less sky falling panic than online posting. They really do need to unfuck its perception/reality on PC though, because that should be generating growth and it doesn't seem it online.

At least sonys crossplay dealings put some games only on the Xbox. I really want a game pass ultimate family plan. Wife was out of town this weekend so we had a boys weekend. My 6 year old wanted to play fortnite on the One S in the family room, 9 year old wanted to play halo 3 on the One S in the living room, and I wanted to get back to progress in Recompile on my Series X in my office… but I couldn’t because I had to be signed in on the living room box so Halo would work. So I ended up playing Skyward Sword on my Switch. I don’t want to spring for 2 more game pass ultimate subscriptions @ $15 each for kids who only might play it 2-3 days per month. Come on Microsoft. Do a $10/ mo add on for 2 additional logins that are already in my ms family..

Into the Pit is roguelike FPS shooter and I fell asleep thinking about it while typing this sentence. Every new Roguelike on the service is a good game not given shoes and going hungry.

What I gathered is that the existing version will be replaced by an upgraded next gen version (textures etc), but you still have to pay for the Anniversary edition which is the one that has all the extra creation club content. Except for fishing, that will be free for everyone.
