That's probably the real lol here tbh

Belichick was up to receive the award less than a week after the Capitol insurrection and among fellow recipients like Jim Jordan. It took a few days of negative media attention before he even declined the award.

You don’t get kudos for reluctantly doing the most obvious baseline level right thing and you probably do deserve questions about why it took so long to decline or why he was on such a list in the first place.

e: looked it up and it was only a one day gap between the nomination and the rejection. Guess it felt like more because the news broke on an NFL Sunday.

Disrespect doesn't enter into Vegas's considerations generally.

To me the only question is whether Henry goes for 120 or 250+ and it feels like there's no in between.

The Chiefs have been surprisingly effective at limiting Henry, I think the Titans are going to throw a lot to keep up. I picked up Tannehill for my bye week sub in preparation for that outcome

All indications are that Michael Jordan is a nice guy and I hope he somehow turns his career around, but yikes.

Jordan was one of those blockers for the Bengals where it seems like he actively sped people up to the quarterback. When he's losing a snap you find out very quickly.

To expand on this, b/c 2020 was such a special situation for a million reasons, on this issue I'm able to separate my football opinions of Belichick and judge him on that statement alone in light of the unprecedented times. Have other coaches talked about social justice, equality, and human rights? That's an honest question.

Belichick mentions learning from the people around him and valuing that process moving forward. I don't look for him to be a civil rights leader but coming from the conservative rear end NFL, his response was memorable. I'm able to acknowledge that while still keeping it in perspective. I also mentioned that maybe he just (smartly) didn't wanna be used by Trump and didn't give a gently caress about social justice, but in my opinion that isn't reflected in his statement which seemed measured and fairly genuine.
