About the balls. I have listened to every other Miyazaki Blank Check, and I agreed with what they said for each one, but I don’t rank Howl below every other film which is why I haven’t been able to bring myself to listen to it yet. It’s just me being sentimental really, about what was happening in my life when I first saw it. It’s a good podcast, even better when the doughboys are on it.

"I didn't know I needed an emulsifier / binder for making sausage" wtf did you expect, that lean ground meat would somehow magically stick together otherwise? Thats like knowing you need to whisk your eggs for an omelet. I guess its a commendable amount of knowledge for some franchise owner or whatever, but not the person you want creating the recipes for your main menu offerings. I was a line cook for years and a kitchen manager for a while, so I really like when they have guests on with any sort of culinary/foodservice background. I still feel like they need to have a real line cook or kitchen person on there as they get someone that is like 50% there on, and it adds a lot of depth and new territory to discuss, but then it never gets quite to 100% as it were.

I don’t think he thought he could make sausage without fat, just that temperature is critical to keep it from separating. Sausage making using normal household kitchen stuff can be pretty challenging at first, which I think is what he was describing when he was saying he was having trouble. You can’t just crack an egg in it like it’s meatloaf or something

I've never listened to Blank Check but Griffin kind of pissed me off because he spent like 90 minutes talking poo poo about Muppets Haunted Mansion on Podcast the Ride after saying he liked it. I thought Muppets Haunted Mansion was genuinely enjoyable and a nitpick session was not my thing.

I have animosity toward blank check cause I downloaded their Clifford episode thinking it would be about Clifford's Really Big Movie but it was instead about some Martin Short movie no one watched they do spend far too much time on bland film industry wank and have some of the worst ad breaks in the podcast world

the only good podcast ad breaks are ones that have a musical bed under them so you know when to stop pressing forward 15/30
