Rall: Stop Obstructing, You Know, the ThingTed Rall posted:Politics is all about framing. Part of why the the ambitious Democratic $3.5 trillion spending bill is down to $1.9 trillion and might go even smaller is because nobody, even in the media, knows what’s in it. How can you ask the public to support something nebulous?

I must have stared at it for several minutes. It was actually a two step process, because even after I had deciphered it to read 'ARM LEG' it still took me a few more moments to catch on what was meant by that specifically. Of course if this was Branco the visual metaphor would have been a motorist literally handing over their arm and leg to Joe Biden, while he stood there grinning, accepting them with bloody hands, an empty thought cloud and teleprompter floating behind him.

The Artificial Kid posted:These people really believe they're in the middle of an epic winning streak against the deep state, don't they? Considering Youngkin is going to win the governor's race in Virginia purely because of getting parents angry about CRT being taught in schools and saying the DoJ is going to come after them, they're at least not entirely wrong. e: So I don't seem like a doomsayer I guess I should backpedal a bit. I don't think Youngkin is guaranteed to win. 538 has Youngkin up by 0.6 in the most recent polling, this is well within the margin of error, and the best rated polls (WaPo) have McAuliffe at +4. It's essentially a dead heat, and this state did go +10 for Biden last year. That said, the fact that in a +10 state, the governor's race is in a practical dead heat is really bad. Like, incredibly bad, especially when we have ads with Obama saying "Please go vote for my friend Terry McAuliffe." Youngkin might not win this election, I really hope he doesn't. But at the very least, even if he loses, it does show that the GOP can win by using "schools teaching evil CRT and the Dems are calling you terrorists," it's proven to be a winning strategy, even if they don't actually win this one. Dubar posted:Thanks to this comic being so entirely incomprehensible It seems pretty straightforward and obvious to me. Lady Liberty is going to see Halloween Kills, a good, decent American movie. Wes (more like WUSS) Anderson is carrying a burning American flag, showing he is bad and hates America. You can also tell he is bad and hates America because his film is called The French Connection, and the only people who like France are American hating liberals. I can understand how you might be confused though, since he didn't show Lady Liberty looking at Wuss Anderson's movie and crying, but that's a powerful symbol, and Kelly probably doesn't want to overuse it.
