Anyone figure out what's up with the PETS closet? Is it gonna be a coat check room full of goldfish and hamsters or something?

Maybe the NoVA police should be looking after the school boards too. https://twitter.com/KagroX/status/1454143609763246082 https://twitter.com/KagroX/status/1454148140072902663 I haven't been following it too closely but Loudoun County - the highest income county in the country - has been going absolutely apeshit the past few weeks over a combo of trans rights, CRT, and Covid policies and by this point it's a minor miracle some school employee hasn't been shot by a parent.

I got roped into looking at Lynchburg College in *Lynchburg, VA* because they were offering a full ride (which made my mother all ) and they rather proudly showed off their dorm rooms...which looked like prison cells. There was a single window that was SMALLER than the one shown in this image, the cinder block walls were coated and painted *dental white* and lit with phosphorescent light... I had a couple dorm rooms like this at UVA. It ain't just billionaires cramming as many students as possible into dorm space.

I just think it’s gross to dress that particular way in that particular place given what happened there. I don’t think most of the country needs a reminder of what the Republican base is given that they show us every day when they’re screaming at the waitress at Applebee’s for her feeble attempt to get them to pull up their face mask or threatening to kill their school board because of ~critical race theory.~ I’m not making a paean to because gently caress Youngkin and gently caress Republicans in general; I just find this particular stunt to be in poor taste.

The Lincoln Project just gave credence and much-needed evidence to the assholes who constantly scream "CRISIS ACTORS" to dismiss anything lovely that their tribe does. You know, I bet they were conspiring with Antifa on January 6th, too! Now it's not just George Soros, it's those "RINOS from The Lincoln Project," too. Even the best polling has the VA Gubernatorial race down to a margin of error split. Not only was this loving stupid, it was the worst possible time to pull something like this, because if/when Youngkin *wins*, and everyone needs to prepare for that, he's immediately able to pull the oh-so-valuable *victim* card about how he's so ~hardcore~ that the "establishment" on *both sides* wants him gone.

When I was at Bragg the neighborhood I lived in was THE neighborhood for trick or treaters in that town. It was literally 6-7 hours of pure chaos. Kids would get dropped off in van loads from the outlying areas because it was pretty much the only large, safe sub division. The local PD had to do traffic control it was so bad. The last year I was there, there was a 3 kids hit by cars, a patch of woods between houses caught on fire due to people blasting illegal fireworks without thought, a dozen or so fight between groups of teenagers. It was getting exponentially worse over the 7 years I lived there, and I had mixed feeling since the majority were rural kids with their parents/chaperones doing the right thing, but poo poo it would go from 5 pm til midnight basically, and my poor golden retriever basically had nervous break downs despite getting anxiety meds and a thunder shirt.

I bought candy the other day for trick or treaters and I'm not seeing anything from the city as to official hours. Doubt I'll get much traffic in these apartments anyhow, so now I probably just have snacks. Seeing lots or news stories about people fretting over weed candy and it's like, no, no one who values their weed is going to give away their weed candy. poo poo's too expensive for that.

I remember gas stations putting up plastic awnings to obscure their pumps from potential lanes of fire, and people actually being courteous with holding doors open at stores. I'm not altering my life in the slightest for a vague threat like this. If a terrorist attacks a mall, it's honestly not a question of "how/why did this happen," it's "how/why hasn't this happened before?"

There's def paid wreckers in DSAs and a ton are just arms of the mainline Dem party, but also most of the dsa scandals I see break into the mainstream are "can you believe these people are saying stuff that's socialist???" As for losing elections, the vast majority of Americans aren't socialists. You can more or less trick liberals into supporting socialists ideas initially like how most Dems say they want universal health care, but as soon as the wheels of power start turning Dems will listen to how actually that socialist idea or person is actually v problematic. So its real cool that I get to choose between a party whos big reach is " tax subsidies for Pell grant recipients who start a business in a disadvantaged community" or a group that disintegrates over tote bags.

Then you got to engage with the tote bag disintegrators imo. That level of drama exists in literally every organization, it just gets a magnifying glass in the DSA. I'm also involved in a very non political charity org and drama is just what happens when humans get together. The Dems actively do not want everyone to get healthcare and housing. The former hurts their donors and the latter hurts their suburban voting base.

You might want to check YouTube for a how-to video because the higher fat content of Wagyu means it can cook differently than other proteins. It'd be a shame to spend have spent the extra and then wonder why the quality isn't readily apparent in the end product.
