watched some movis Color out of space: lol, lmao. I dont ccare what people say this movie is good, i have watched it like 4 times, i love it The Deep Ones: This movie sucks absolute poo poo. Porn level acting, bizarre musical choices, and the cinematography is absolute dog poo poo. That being said, its kind of hilarious in how bad it is, and there is a scene where a guy gets pegged in the mouth by a coochie tentacle. Annihilation: Loved most of it, ending sequence dragged on for way too long, but i watched t twice so it cant be that bad, very cool use of subtle effects Mandy: slow and weird at first but fuckin rad as hell once it kicks off as long as you dont expect explanations for anything thats going on Suspiria(2018): Overrated as all hell. Not bad, but could have used some serious editing down, it did not need the run time it had Vampire's Kiss: Didnt know it was supposed to be a comedy at first so the comedic elements caught me off guard, was holding a pillow over my own face to muffle my laughter, jesus christ

Justin Godscock posted:The best way I can describe Mad Max 1 is that it's more of a dystopian film than a post-apocalyptic film. People go in expecting the latter when the film is really about how poo poo society has become and is really on the verge of falling apart. Max is kind of one of the few threads holding it together but it's not going to last. The best way to describe it is Mad Max 1 is set next year, Mad Max 2 is set the year after

Technically not a movie but I absolutely loathe Zendaya; she's shoved in everything that uses a camera and the entertainment media will not shut up about this dumb actress I'm watching the Dune movie and she is weighing down the picture by a landslide, get her off my screen.

A Clockwork Orange is trashy as hell and I would say it's Kubrick's worst, if not for 2001. Was the latter ever supposed to be experienced as a narrative film, or were you supposed to project it on the wall while you host a hipster party, like a Warhol thing?

ACO was the first Kubrick I saw and so it kinda contains a grimey magic for me that his other films lack. The comic timing is just so on-point.

a lot of big budget movies have issues with sound mixing where the music/background audio completely overwhelms the actors speaking and i dont understand how this keeps happening. Oh, or swinging wildly between being really loving loud and really loving quiet. Also actors mumbling, i get that its "realistic" sometimes but if i'm watching a movie I know they are actors doing lines, and i'd like to be able to understand them without subtitles

The other 50% is that his films have been getting less clever the more he gains a reputation for making clever films. Memento was amazing. Tenet's reputation for being complex is vastly overblown, and hinges largely on how poorly the action and dialogue are conveyed to the viewer. Interstellar is definitely when it became apparent that the emperor has no clothes.

The Star Wars sequels are good, The Last Jedi is easily the best thing to happen to the franchise since Empire Strikes Back, and the trilogy only shat the bed when Rise of Skywalker tried to please a bunch of nerds who wouldn’t have been happy no matter what happened.
