Jeff as a contestant is something that could go either way, either everyone wants to keep him around because it's Jeff or everyone is desperate to blindside him because it's Jeff.

Speaking of that is there a reason the American version has never done a Celebrity Survivor?

That post a way back about The Mole and celebrity seasons of reality shows making it seem desperate might be a thing, plus celebrity booking costs money and probably doesn't bump the ratings much if at all.

The "celebrities" you get for celebrity reality type competitions are often not that much more than what we already get on Survivor. Like we already get the occasional professional retired athletes and a good portion of Survivors All Star players are more famous than what you'd get as far as actors and poo poo go.

David vs. Goliath sort of kind of had a celebrity theme, almost. I mean it didn't really but there were a few on there.

Basic Survivor, except if a Pagonging starts they'll have a dude with a boombox play the world's most obnoxious song (My Way by Limp Bizkit) on repeat. The more pagonging, the louder it gets.

I first saw Amazing Race when a friend was so eager for people to see this new show he'd found on A Legal Download Site that he burned season 6 onto 2 DVDs and sent them to me. I liked it.

I went back and re-watched the hourglass scene because it's such a wild scene, such a weird twist and way they went about the production of it. It seems extremely memeable. I kinda want to clip and cut it to make it seem like Jeff just pulls out a hammer while she's crying and then they just stare at each other, then Jeff says "what you do with this is your decision... " "omg, how much time do I have?" *Jeff pulls out an hourglass and sets it horizontally*

It started with photoshops of Erika in earlier seasons of Survivor, and now it's moved on to various events throughout history. She's responded with a TikTok talking about how exhausting time travel is. It really is maybe the dumbest twist the show has ever introduced, but at least it brought us memes.

Given your regdate I can understand that. It definitely used to be a rule back when bandwidth costs were an actual thing for people to worry about but it's been gone for a long time now.

I'm sorry but I am laughing at/with the 2004 regdate who had no idea that image leeching was no longer a rule. This is a rare moment and one to savor. Remember when Sandy Smith wrote for the front page?

Bandwidth leeching? Was that the term? And yeah it used to be probate-able, so I'm not surprised a longtime user would instinctively avoid it.

yes, leeching was bad back in the year 2009, but we have evolved. bandwidth costs 0.0001 cents per image and there are twelve humans left reading the something awful dot com forums anyway

This came up in a QCS or TECH thread a while back and the official stance is image leeching is fine but if the host swaps out the image for goatse you're still gonna eat the punishment

You're not allowed to sing on the island according to a malcolm interview. It makes some sense, but geez, copyright paranoia meaning you can't even sing cabin fever madness type nonsense songs with made-up tunes is a bummer. how can one even do boring physical tasks without singing or muttering to yourself?

I'd drop a link but don't want the overzealous files probe as the proof is tenuous. Belgians do care so they are harder to find. Next season should be second week of January for the Dutch. I always felt like The Mole was a victim of DVR not quite being so commonplace and having a season long mystery made people lose interest if they missed a week. I think its in one of my top reality shows (solitary being the other one I just massively love) and I think all episodes being available at once on something like netflix would be a fun weekend watch. I didn't know there was a new version coming out, so its very exciting. My wife actually had never seen The Mole and it was on netflix so we watched it and she enjoyed it like that. I had forgotten who the mole was the first season, but I remembered within like 2 or 3 episodes.

If you're at all a fan of Amazing Race (or were) the Canadian version is EXCELLENT. Watching the first Survivor Australia season (Champions vs Contenders 2) available on Paramount+ and man, the Golden God is great television. Just a cast full of ringers, top to bottom. Also its confusing that the twitter hashtag is #SurvivorAU since it feels like the show is an alternate universe . And the host has a beard. Brass posted:this season has been so bad that I've started investigating and contemplating watching Australian Survivor You absolutely should watch it. The first 2 seasons were a little weak, but from Champions Vs Contenders up until this past season have been on par or even better than US Survivor. The challenges, contestants, and even the host are all amazing. Jonathan spends a lot of tribal just as an interesting third party at tribal instead of making it into a talk show or pushing the game a certain way.

Pretty sure it was early in the season so not much of a spoiler, they did hide an idol right on the set at tribal pretty much behind where the Survivors sit at tribal. Nobody looked for one after that at tribal though (while on camera I guess).
