I have no idea how people listen to them while exercising. I think I'd focus on them more than the exercise.

I don't know how lawyers work but a lawyer getting out-contract lawed by a non lawyer has to be a pretty big own

Lawyers are incredibly siloed in what they do. Like don’t ever take advice from a lawyer unless it’s the exact area they practice. A brilliant criminal lawyer probably knows dog poo poo about contracts beyond what they learned in a class ten or fifteen years ago

But I think she actually worked for a big law firm didn’t she? So contracts would actually be in her area?

It's genuinely ludicrous to me that someone would listen to a podcast whilst exercising and I guarantee people who are saying they do have never lifted any serious amount of weight. I have a curated lifting playlist that mostly features music like early Swans, Death Grips, metal staples like Pantera/80s Metallica/Gojira, and specific genres of EDM for High Intensity Interval Training. My current lifts are Deadlift 160kg 5x5, Overhead Press 60kg 4x8, Squat 140kg 5x5, Bench Press 100kg 4x8. This is in addition to a wide range of accessory work I do which is focused on hypertrophic training (i.e 3-4 sets of 10-12 with a focus on controlling the eccentric contraction). I'd estimate my current body fat percentage at 12% and I run 10km on alternate days within 45-50 minutes with little to no exertion.

I listen to podcasts either when laying down in the evening after taking my evening dose of suboxone (I split it into two doses a day) or while doing cardio exercise. There usually aren't enough podcasts to fill all this time each week, though (unless there's also something like Blowback or Hell of Presidents going on).

Something about opioid dependence seems to gently caress with weight-lifting, though. Doing the lifting itself is obviously still possible, but it doesn't make me feel good anymore. The natural release of endorphins seems to have little to no effect, which just makes things unpleasant and leaves me feeling like poo poo. It sucks, because I used to enjoy it a lot before the addiction. Even the cardio just makes me want to sleep afterwards, instead of leaving me refreshed.

The no-wave albums like Filth or Public Castration is a Good Idea for lifting but the title track off The Glowing Man has a good buildup and Motorik beat for running
