It’s important to do DNA testing on used panties you buy to confirm authenticity.

When I worked at a phone sex company (on the admin side, not an operator), the financial domination side of it was crazy. The women were making tons for literally just picking up the phone and ignoring them, in some cases.

I could see their earnings data and it made me feel terribly stupid when I did as I sat in a dumb cubicle making average money per hour instead of being flooded with all items from my Amazon wishlist, bought by other people, for me.

Even if it is true would it matter? Armor is a job because one person is supposed to be responsible for checking that every gun is handled and loaded properly. Apparently the dummy rounds have a small hole normal rounds don't have, something that can be checked with a quick visual inspection. "This box should only contain dummy rounds" isn't an excuse to not do that quick visual inspection.

That was my thought as well. If I'm the safety inspector at my job and I'm just pencil whipping the checklists, "someone sabotaged the equipment that I signed off on and didn't actually check" wouldn't be a valid excuse when someone dies.

Pretty much yes, even if it was actively sabotaged she still should have caught it as part of super basic inspections before handing the weapon to anyone else. Sabotage shouldn't even be possible if the weapons were safely stored under lock and key (which they should be if the armorer is not there) so whichever way the narrative shifts the buck still stops at the armorer.

I'm honestly baffled why they're now trying to shift the narrative to the camera department's complaints, as if that makes any difference in the outcome. Maybe the number of hours thing was true, maybe not, but it's not at all relevant to what happened so it's a super weird deflection. Unless they're trying to imply that somehow a disgruntled camera department member deliberately sabotaged the weapon, which would be one hell of an accusation.

I like how in the 5 billion other salaries mentioned, not a single one is what another armorer on a comparable project made. Hell it doesn't even give an estimated time work to compare her relative hourly to other fields.

All it really tells us is that the bug stars and producers got payed a poo poo ton more than everyone else, which... duh?

Supposedly it was a 21 day shooting schedule. If you go by Alec's claim of 12 hour days with weekends off, that's $44/hr. (or $38/hr plus overtime, if you want to look at it that way). That's if 21 days means three weeks.

I have no idea what is usual for an armorer, but that article straight-up says "The young armorer’s seemingly low salary for the movie was not unusual, experts told the entertainment publication." So I'm not really sure what the takeaway is supposed to be here. That they skimped on the armorer by hiring a novice?

A quick Google says yearly take home is normally 12k-88k, so it looks like gig count weighs in pretty heavy. That said, if she kept up constant gigs at her pay rate she'd be on the upper end of those figures.

E: lol from the Q&A with the armorer

What is the question people should ask about this career but rarely do? posted:

“How much time is required to become a proficient Armorer?”

“The amount of time it takes to become an Armorer entirely depends on the individual. Some people pick it up incredibly fast, while others take a long time. Some people are naturals. They have an affinity for guns and making people feel relaxed. They understand the safety concerns and how to follow the correct procedure.”

“No matter how talented someone is, there is still at least a year’s worth of apprenticeship required to build a foundation. Unfortunately, when someone tries to rush the process, people get injured and killed on set. When done correctly, this career provides complete safety on set. However, when it isn’t, it can lead to disaster.”

There’s a lot of talk about the nepotism armorer and her lazy findom past, but was she even on set to inspect the weapon when this happened? The account that was going around the first day was that the assistant director had grabbed the gun without going through her, was supposed to inspect it but obviously did not, then yelled “COLD GUN” as he handed it over to Alec “The Ripper” Baldwin. What’s going on with that AD? Does he have any lazy fetish tweets?

still think the rumors on the first day are probably most likely, that some people where shooting the guns for fun over lunch, put them back with the round still there, armorer wasn't present or didn't check, and AD didn't check either

Story going round back then was that there were just a handful of guns on a table (later established as the plinkin' pile), and the AD grabbed the nearest one and declared it cold.

you don't believe a striking unionist with a chip on their shoulder sabotaged the weapon with a live round hand-painted to appear fake to fool the AD after having subdued and tied up the armorer in the utility closet?

i thought it sounded a little farfetched at first too, but then the armorer was photographed in a shirt that said she was all tied up, and i can't help but admit the dominoes started falling into place.
