Yeah. There actually were relic kingdoms around what's now Afghanistan due to Alexander the great, and it formed this really wild merging of ideas where like Hercules and Buddha were pals and an absolute ton of really interesting ideas began to form. Ex: Part of the reason there are any human-like depictions of any bodhisattvas could be attributed to this, and Alexander himself became a really weird mythological figure (conquering king) It's supposed to be a joke I'm not gonna write a thesis on how some of what happens in the comic was cribbed from stuff that happened irl, or was said to have happened irl He is purposefully pulling whatever concepts seem fun and useful from actual old era writings I think and him being a secret doctor of antiquities is a huge exaggeration

I'm pretty sure one of two things is happening next - Jags is fine and this just bought time for Alison and co to scatter or - Jags' soul is gone and now his incomparably strong, invincible body and the keys he's gathered are sitting in the ruins of Throne waiting to be claimed.

Large black sky orbs seem to be pretty common, like wrath of god or anime stuff like EVA and Zato 1 from guilty gear, just off the top of my head. I would bet it's a cross cultural thing because of eclipses kinda looking like giant black orbs.

honestly I'm not really convinced that was an actual plan for dealing with an alive Jagg whose lookin to rumble, more like empty posturing about all the stuff that comes after, which doesn't matter. Like, "you will be cast down" is probably the most important and most impossible step, in Dave's 4 step plan like "your name will be excised from history" is not a useful thing in combat, probably, or how it's "your body will be thrown" instead of "you will be thrown"- it's detailing what they'll do after winning, whether by killing him or rendering him unable to fight. Again, what he's kind of skipping over is the actual winning part like Solomon probably could've kept going like "and then we'll get drunk and piss into the void, and hi-5 and draw unflattering pictures of you", but it doesn't really mean anything in regards to getting to that point Mazerunner fucked around with this message at 03:59 on Nov 8, 2021 |
