It’s fine, the word doesn’t mean “bad internet thing,” that was a nice fan Also depending on the airport I would bet seeing wrestlers isn’t the least common thing in the world. Orlando and Jacksonville have to be up there; I’ve seen DDP on my way through the terminal in Atlanta (he definitely notices when you notice him, nice guy. also huge)

Yeah, parasocial relationships are literally 'are fan of person and has any kind of emotional connection'. The phrase was coined to refer to like talk show hosts and newsreaders. The Internet definitely enables a destructive form of them but it doesn't exclusively mean that.
