Yeah they hired Gable Steveson's brother at the same time they signed him, and fittingly for WWE they can't have two "Stevesons" so they're giving him a new name so they can never acknowledge they're related and will probably fire Bobby the minute his brother actually debuts

I bet the reason his name is different is that if the backlash against Gable starts up enough again that they can’t use him he’ll be less poisoned as a backup because he won’t be connected to him in kayfabe

I think it's simpler: The contract they signed Gable to says he gets to compete in amateur wrestling for at least the next full year before making his WWE debut so they've got at a minimum another ~14 months before they have him as a fulltime performer, and they're afraid if there's another Steveson running around in the interim it'll gently caress up his name value.

Eddie Kingston (at least according to Cagematch) wrestled in Palo Alto, PA exactly twice, both for Chikara, in October and November 2002.

Better yet, he wrestled against Quack in the main event (a 3v3 and a 4v4 tag match, respectively).

Those are also the last wrestling shows on record in Palo Alto. The only shows prior to 2000 were in 1998-2000 from Future Wrestling Alliance, a promotion headlined by Quack and ran 12 of its 14 shows at the Firehouse in Palo Alto, and then in 2000 Hardway Wrestling (another company with Quack as their champion) ran a single show in Palo Alto.

Palo Alto, Pennsylvania appears to be a town that has never seen a wrestling show not headlined by Mike Quackenbush.
