It reminds me a lot of the sort of mid to late 00s tech death I would come across and obsess over nonstop. I’m definitely into it so far. Way better than 99% of the tech death I’ve heard over the last 10 years or so.

I was listening to Frozen Soul today and I can't remember the name of that band we were talking about that had a release that was titled something about the cold that we found kinda funny

it's getting chilly here so I'm busting out the music with lyrics about cold. Suggestions welcome, any genre!

Darkthrone's original black metal trilogy are the coldest albums I've ever heard.

Decades later they released Artic Thunder which is literally about the cold but feels less chilly than their original material but it's still loving awesome and you should listen.

For my cold suggestion, Battle Dagorath. This album in particular just sounds like being lost on a mountain.

Coldest song of 2021 though is easily Frigid and Spellbound

A friend of mine made a video for a nyc band called Child Abuse. They realized it was stupid but started getting known and by that point didn’t want to change names.

speaking of, i saw gwar/eyehategod/napalm death last night.

eyehategod and napalm death were very good, and even without oderus, gwar still can put on a great show. i had a ton of fun, my first metal show back since covid.

place was absolutely packed.

I saw a couple shows in the last week or so,

Couch Slut were dressed up for Halloween

As were Pyrrhon

Imperial Triumphant always dress up

Last night started with Glorious Depravity

Then Artificial Brain were great, I love the vocalist

And Inter Arma were heavy as gently caress

Oh yeah that was all at Saint Vitus

Imperial Triumphant should’ve just dressed in street clothes.

Artificial Brain have a new vocalist right? Does he have as hilariously stereotypical of a New York accent as the old guy?

I didn’t know anything about them before this show but this dude recommended the chop cheese from the bodega across the street and did cute little hip hop dance shuffles so he’s ok by me

It's for good reason, particularly Process of a New Decline. The First Fragment is really great. I thought I might not like tech-death so much these days since I haven't cared for anything Archspire did, but I guess I was just looking for something different.
