He’s Houston and its rap scene in a nutshell. This is someone you “check-in” with if you’re big before coming to Houston. Tekashi was called out for going to Houston and not checking-in, I’m p sure.

A lot of clout and probably a lot of uhhh force behind that clout.

To add further context to that tweet with Kanye Omari West, J Prince introduced Drake to Lil Wayne and helped him get signed to Young Money Entertainment in 2009.

When YoungBoy got his car broken into and they took a chain out; J Prince took it upon himself to get it back and "invited" YoungBoy to come pick it up and talk.

I have actual skeletons in my closet
Master P and Bun B had issues prior to Bun's passing. P allegedly has Bun kidnapped and was going to "do something" but had to call J first.

Floyd and J were friends and business associates. Floyd cut him out and shortly after, everyone in the gym he owned was beaten with bats and put in the hospital.

Drake is an investment for him, Drake makes money for him, and because of that Drake is heavily protected.

J Prince realized that if he didn't stop the Drake and Pusha T poo poo that Drake was at risk, because my guess is Drake has some more skeletons in his closet that are worse than him hiding a child, that would had come out if Push had kept going. Which is why he killed whatever Drake was working on, and then called Pusha and his people to end the overt poo poo.

Yeah my guess would be that he gambled very correctly on what would happen if he paired Drake's charisma with top tier producers/writers.

My favorite J Prince story is, after Z-Ro dropped Look What You Did To Me, he met with Prince who turned him down for a record deal due to Z-Ro's name meaning "nothing". A few years later, after Z-Ro had created buzz in Texas with his first few album releases, J Prince pulls up to a spot Z-Ro is at to discuss a chance at another deal. Z-Ro, by his own admission, denies knowing who or where Z-Ro is to Prince and his entourage. He was shook enough off the possibility that he may have slighted Prince in some unknowing way that he decided there on the spot that it was best just to play dumb.

There was a bunch of hype around the Courtesy Call audio in regrads to Drake falling out with Cash Money and fighting with Puffy around the time of IYRTITL. I remember people talking like it was going to be a big Third Coast vs the East / West rap beef akin to Tupac and Biggy.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fHW2pcHgmRk

Like him or not, J Prince is responsible for a ton of classic Southern artists and releases. Rap-a-lot was extremely pivotal in the rap industry and pushed the industry forward on the backs of a ton of now considered undisputed classic albums and legendary artists. There is a long running laundry list of your favorite rappers' favorite rapper talking on record about how J Prince is no joke the real deal.

I'm still lmao at the Kanye video. Looks like his ego got lowered a few decibels.
