There's so much RNG in Ability Draft with heroes assigned, pick order and overall skills available that there isn't a whole lot to strategize for before the game starts. Even if you have your traditional supports/carries players the heroes and skills might not even match out well for their roles. The most you can do is play AD a lot and figure out which skills synergize with which heroes and prioritize them. Sometimes you can make scuffed heroes where you get 3/4 or 2/4 core abilities from another hero, sometimes you can make some whacko out there ones. With a tournament and prize pool in mind we might even see "support" heroes deny pick skills off of the opposing team to stop their synergy from happening. Esports teams are just looking for ways to monetize their fanbase without having to a) leave their team houses b) put any actual effort in aside from tweets c) get in on a market that has increasing marginal profit per sale. Gambling sites meet the first 2, but crypto shilling meets all 3 and also looks "cool" to folks who think crypto is the next big thing.
