Also the Elite 4 was always kinda fucky, tbh. Lorelei was close to perfect, but also brought a Slowbro along. Half of Bruno's team was Onixes, and that's with a ton of unused fighting types like Primeape and Poliwrath he could've tapped into. Agatha was ironically a perfect Poison E4 but was billed as a Ghost type one. Lance had his Gyarados and Aerodactyl, who at least fit the theme visually. In Johto Bruno's still bringing around his Onix, Koga's got a Forretress mixed in with his otherwise Poison team, and Karen's bringing forward a Vileplume and Gengar. Will's the only one who actually showed up with a full type squad.

Hoenn bucked the trend and went all-in on the types, and Sinnoh kinda un-bucked it with Aaron and Bertha having an off-type ringer each. To say nothing of Flint and his 40% fire Fire team.

I'd say DP Flint isn't bad compared to some of the Hoenn E4, namely Glacia and Phoebe. Having Pokemon that aren't of your type but do fit your theme is much better than using multiples of the same species or line.

That's a very good point. Glacia had two unique lines of Pokemon represented, with most every Pokemon involved a duplicate. Drake and Phoebe had 3 each, again with several dupes thrown in. Oddly enough, the E4 member with the most diverse team was the very first one in the region. Shifty and Cacturne are a type double up, but at least they look and fight different!

I literally posted the outfit I was talking about and it's not this. Also I like playing as both it's why I said I would like them to have better options and noted how pokemon masters got it right for the boys. But by all means please go on.

If you want me to go off on why I prefer the female outfit it's a matter of spacing. The girl has a hair kerchief while the guy has nothing and it leaves the look feeling unbalanced. The fact she has shorts helps balance out the size of their shoes and makes it feel less clunky. His belt is cinched lower to show off more chest but this is a young kid and theres not a lot of chest to show off here. So the fabric just kind of pools and looks awkward on him. The colors are perfectly fine on both but I'm not nutty about his execution. Give him some sort of hat or cloth to wear on his head to balance it out and give him a similar bottom to the girl while tightening up the top. I think that would be an improvement.

edit: Honestly the more I look at it his calf guards are the worst offenders here. They just clash by emphasizing how thick the shoes are in comparison.

The male one honestly looks between between the two of them. Still, it's kind of a silly thing to focus on.

I decided to do something fun and make teams for the Hoenn E4 that don't repeat species or lines:

Sydney: Cacturne, Zangoose, Crawdaunt, Shiftry, Absol
-We've seen enough of Mightyena and Sharpedo from the villain teams and traveling the ocean. Crawdaunt was used in his Emerald team replacing Sharpedo and that was great because it was rarely used by other trainers. Zangoose was something he used in the manga and is also another rarely used Pokemon.

Phoebe: Banette, Ninetales, Sableye, Bellossom, Dusknoir
-Ninetales because it has some spiritual associations and is another Mt. Pyre resident. Bellossom because it's so good with Phoebe's aesthetic. It can't learn any Ghost moves, but maybe it should! It does need better coverage, right? Shedinja is the only other Ghost but people think it's too weak for E4. I don't think that a real deal-breaker since most battles end in one hit anyway. But besides that I do like the other additions better.

Glacia: Glalie, Lanturn, Froslass, Donphan, Walrein
-It would feel natural to fill the rest of her team with Water-types. I like the idea of giving her blubbery or deep sea Pokemon, and she would have Wailord when Froslass isn't available. I also thought too many Water-types would make her feel like a Water-specialist so I looked around for other options. I like Donphan because it's reminiscent of Mamoswine and it's also rarely used.

Drake: Altaria, Huntail, Flygon, Kingdra, Salamence
-Gyarados was the first choice since it's the standard Dragon-specialist team filler when there are no other Dragon-types. But Huntail is another rarely used Pokemon that also goes with Drake's sailor theme.

So far every Pokemon game has had like five times more clothing for the women than they have for the men.

It would be nice if Legends broke that trend, sure, but if I was a betting man, I'd say the odds that there are special male outfits are very, very low.

I feel sorry for everyone who's forced to wear Gunner armor because it's always worse than the Blademaster stuff. And that's not even getting into the gender separated outfits.

BDSP's gym leader theme is definitely better than B2/W2's though.

So I'm seeing that following Pokemon works just like in SwSh where tons of Pokemon just can't keep up with the player. Someone said that with their Torterra out they get to listen to it constantly pop in and out of it's ball because it's so slow.

Would it really have looked that bad to just have the Pokemon's model locked a set distance behind you? :sigh:

There's a track for the GTS, seemingly confirming that you don't have to play their stupid little game with the pok�mon home app just to have access to the feature! Honestly it's a little shocking.

I think it legitimately is not money. You don't pay more to subscribe to two apps, but it DOES cost more to develop them. I think it's just the millionth example of the Pokemon franchise's broken design philosophy.
