I have VA healthcare and it's fantastic. I have zero copay, deductibles, or out of pocket expenses ever. I have complete coverage minus routine dental (emergency is still covered). I never have to worry about if I can see a doctor. I just roll into the place and see them. If it's beyond the clinic, they pre-auth me into whatever ER I want to go to in town. I don't have to fill out paperwork or do poo poo if the preauth goes through right, and I'm seen almost immediately when walking in instead of waiting. Like it's seriously the bee's knees to not have to worry at all about my healthcare. In the past few weeks I've received 6 prescriptions via the mail, two sets of knee braces that cost $100+ ea because they have the good metal hinges, and a new set of glasses and I spent nothing on any of it but my time. Everyone should have my healthcare at a basic minimum.

Things that suck about the VA - sometimes I have to drive a bit to see a specialist. For example, next thursday I'm going to an ortho specialist to look at a baker's cyst on my right knee. I have to drive a couple hours to a town with a VA hospital to get it done. This sucks, but they also pay me mileage to cover my travel expenses, and I'm seeing someone next week not in 6 months.

I still have PTSD from the American health care system. I got hurt downunder and my immediate thought was "i am financially ruined".

the VA hospital I'm going to next week once gave me a MRSA infection on the back of my head, and one of my primary care docs really bungled something one time that caused a bit of some issues in my life, but those instances are not unique to the VA and are endemic to all medical systems. Overall, the VA kicks the poo poo out of anything anyone else I have has got. American healthcare is horrific.

I'm in the waiting room for a dental surgeon to remove a wisdom tooth. The surgery is healthcare and thus covered, the dentist appointment to set it up was out of pocket. Norwegian healthcare is good, but the dentistry thing is a weird gap.

I have the American version of “really good” insurance, yet here’s something dumb. So my annual physical is 100% covered. Because I have a prescription for Ativan for anxiety, which is a controlled substance, I have to have a urine test once a year to make sure I’m not abusing. My doctor schedules this urinalysis with the blood draw and urinalysis I’m already getting for my physical. Every year I get billed separately for the drug screening, which is part of my overall annual physical.

As a red blooded American, I am very confused by this not-paying-for-healthcare nonsense Equally stupified by "workers rights" whatever the gently caress that is *sigh* I had a kidney stone in Paris and got treated for it and then when I was done I asked where I need to pay and the staff was like "??????????? no pay, just leave"

This is the last known photo taken by forums user Ratjaculation. It is assumed the ferocious beast mauled and consumed him, leaving nothing but his clothing and a cellphone. The only other photo stored on the phone was of a tiny pixelated penis.
