lol i tried playing through tooie after kazooie earlier this year and it's so much worse than i remembered as a kid, i think i got up to grunty industries and gave up

i didnt play either banjo or tooie until they came out on 360, i enjoyed banjo a lot, was looking forward to tooie and just fuckin hated it

I loved Banjo Tooie when I was 8 but I also was and still am heavily retarded. I’m sure if I played even a half hour of it today I’d hate it.

It's far from a perfect game but I kinda like tooie, it did a lot of things that were pretty unique for the genre at the time, like subworlds that were interconnected with each other or straight up shifting to an fps for a couple of jiggies. If every collectible in the game wasn't such a slog to get it would have a lot in common with Odyssey.

Banjo Kazooie is one of my favorite games, but Tooie was… eh. It’s nowhere near as good but has some stuff I liked. Overall it’s a slog though, Both times I played it I never bothered getting past Grunty Industries. I’d take it over DK64 though.

I loved tooie as a kid and have some pretty fond memories, but whenever I finish replaying kazooie, I never feel like I need more, and tooie is nothing but "more" I finally tried replaying it last year, and I got maybe an hour in before realizing I had no idea what I was doing which might have been my fault, I was playing during a zoom meeting and only half paying attention, but idk it just felt like way too much there's jiggy wiggy and the jinjo king and bottles dies and you meet his family, and he's replaced with jamjars, but also his ghost is there, and gruntilda's got these two other evil witch pals now and mumbo jumbo's back but now he's in a rivalry with sassy mumbo jumbo and you've got to collect poo poo for both of them and jinjos are back but now there's also "glowbos" and gently caress god do I have to check out every one of these loving jinjo houses

Yeah Tooie was the only one I owned for some reason (rented BK a few times and got about halfway through). I finally played BK through when I was 20 or so and really enjoyed it, it held up well, and I was excited to get to Tooie and replay one of my old favourite games. It was one of the most depressing experiences of my life and I was in law school at the time
