I outdamaged eight of my goddamn teammates lol

to a certain extent this match isn't that impressive because it was alpine and I was a 6ERLL SNV-1 so I could fire 3+3 with great cooling. I got up on Moron Mountain and sawed their DWF in half immediately, then I got the drop on their SNV-1 and took his torso and killed him later. Then I supported a Centurion who dropped off the mountain and helped him kill two more things. During that time where I was taking out two assaults and tying up their Hellbringers, nearly my entire team died uselessly in a ditch.

Yeah idg why boaters like the SNV-A over the MCII-4, the latter has more armor (and AMS!!!)

Mechs that irrationally make my stomach drop when they descend on me:

Mist Lynx with machine gun arms blazing
A freakin Crab bc it's never gonna die
Marauder, see above
Linebacker bc if it's running towards me it's probably one of those SRM builds and I have about 0.7 seconds to live

supernovas come with a standard engine, so the initial cbill price for them is much lower. they're one of the cheapest clan assaults before you pay for the upgrades

Urbanmech stock engine is actually pretty decent on long range (for an IS light anyway) builds. You can still dodge poo poo, thanks to your jumpjets, you just do so vertically instead.

Yes, but then you're not in a stock engine Urbanmech, which is the main point of the build. "Actually pretty decent " is with that being taken into account. :v:

If you build a mech that runs slower than your average assault mech build you can easily ensure that they're ahead of you to soak damage for you.

Yeah there’s nothing on the level of rescuing Hammer Lance or the rivalry with Burr’s Black Cobras or ambushing the Jade Falcons in MW4:Mercs

I liked the scripted mission in one of the expansions where you have to lead an enemy lance into an ambush in a mud ravine. I used the hero Panther and jumped around like crazy.

It's a bit of a letdown - the old MW titles were generally quite good about having interesting mission design. There were almost never any straightfoward 'go to x, blow it up, leave' missions. Even when they did follow that format, there was always a snarl, an ambush on the way, friendlies in need of assistance, jammed comms, etc.

I don't mind a few filler missions, but I vastly prefer something like MW2 Mercs where it's 80% handcrafted stuff and 20% generated missions.

This really does look great. I agree that the redesigns are awesome, but it's hard to top some of those OG clan mechs. The MWO Timber Wolf is a bit awkward in particular - something weird with the legs, and I think it shares a walk animation with the Cataphract, which looks great on the CTF and not so great on the TBR.

The like, first mission of MW2:M has stuck in my head from playing it fairly young - you gotta go into a city and blow up the third floor of a building (I remember it being lit up, something you didn't really see in base MW2) - and only once you attacked it, did enemies show up, and you had to book it out of there.

I think that mission kinda intimated me at the time, since most of what I did with mech warrior was play skirmishes against bot waves with cheats on lol.
