If you wait long enough you might have a while where nobody remembers, but it's basically inevitable. Either way, the best of luck with making an LP that really works. If you're still wanting to check out some good SSLPs on the LP archive, I also recommend GuavaMoment's XCOM series—they're a very good read that I've gone through multiple times and were very formative for me in figuring out how narrative LPs are structured.

What game would you pick? Would you sit in silence? Or just describe what's happening on screen? This is what people mean when they imply that "simply playing them isn't enough". There's no single correct answer for style, but you need to do something to ensure that your "friend" is entertained. Whether that's making jokes, or being informative, or showing off secrets and easter eggs, or letting them make choices, or doing a blind run so you can experience it together, or whatever else. You just need to make sure that your "friend" doesn't get so bored that they remember a dentist's appointment and leave.

Yeah... I think I finally know what game I wanna SSLP. And I swear by Sally, Fedule, Danaru that the only adult stuff about it is war violence. I just have to figure out how to narrate it. It has two(+) paths of violence and "pacifism". But it's not Undertale, and Deltarune is ongoing. You'll just have to wait and see, and we (you goons and myself) should all hope I'm not making a big mistake.

For $30, I personally suggest owning up to it and just learning to live with it. Given their posting style, I'd have to imagine that buying a new account or name change would do nothing, since the people here would probably immediately figure out who it is. Does anyone have a good rule of thumb for how long you should pause on a dialogue section before moving to the next one when it comes to a video LP of a VN/RPG Maker/Etc type game? I'm teaching myself video editing (slowly  ) to expand the range of stuff I can LP (and also, like, for practical purposes, I already edit audio for a podcast I'm part of so adding video to my repertoire would help tremendously), but my reading speed is absurdly quick so I have no personal sense of what a good amount of time would be for the average person. (Obviously if there's voice acting that helps set its own metric, but this is for stuff without voice acting).
