If the target wasn't the maternity hospital, then it could have been the Cathedral just round the corner where the Remembrance Parade was taking place. It depends at what point the taxi driver realised what was going on and pulled over.

The advice is generally "IWW AND a more mainstream union who have the infrastructure to provide you support".

It depends on her industry basically. https://www.tuc.org.uk/join-a-union is a starting point.

I wouldn't trust it any more than any other random Twitter account to be honest, in fact slightly less because as of yet the path to monetisation for their schtick - which is just to repost stuff with attribution in a reply tweet, but often with extremely clickbaity and often completely misleading headlines - hasn't shown itself yet, and in that case I basically assume dark money. In particular in this case they're purely reporting purely on what as far as I know is completely uncorroborated posts on Instagram, some of which are being massively signal-boosted by the far right.

There's some very big and important pieces missing here and right now I'm taking everything with a massive pinch of salt. In no particular order:

- Why was he at the hospital? Yeah the cathedral is around the corner but the hospital is in a cul-de-sac. Could be the driver had suspicions and just wanted to get him somewhere that there would be authorities around?
- The "explosion" can't have been *that* big - windows of cars right next to the burning car are all intact, and also (assuming the videos I've seen are accurate and show the immediate aftermath) the car is extremely on fire (most explosives don't actually give off a huge amount of heat, certainly not enough to ignite car upholstery etc). It's *possible* a small explosion in the back seat could break the fuel tank and cause a fire that way but normally you'd see burning fuel under the car rather than the car being on fire from front to back.
- These arrests are a bit weird, at least timing-wise. Look away now GCHQ but if I'd planned a terrorist attack that had failed (or succeeded) I'd not be sitting around at home at 8 o'clock. 3 arrests at 2 locations - who are they and how are they connected?

I'm not actually :tinfoil:ing here, but I'm also definitely not trusting wet-cement reporting like this, especially with just how rabidly the far right are latching on to the story.

e: Weirder, Beeb say the raids happened around 1400, but the videos I've seen are definitely evening.

There's still loads of rumours about the whole Liverpool attack thing and no real confirmation on what has happened. My local gossip groups on Facebook are pretty loving wild with theories right now.

Counter terrorism police have made 3 arrested in relation to the incident but it's not terrorism :thunk:
This is making me think it is actually related to some sort of antivaxx and/or anti abortion thing if the hospital was the target. iirc there's been a few issues there in the past?

Yeah, apparently he works for a local taxi firm. Fundraisers and "ARE SCOUSE HERO" jerking off has taken over my feed ughhh.

Bunch of other Facebook posts popping up from local people saying there's more full geared officers evacuating people from homes. Not sure what is happening or what is true.

Liverpool incident:

More info via Graun - seems to be from the police rather than instagram posts:

https://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2021/nov/14/liverpool-womens-hospital-one-man-dies-and-one-injured-after-taxi-explodes

quote:

Three men have been arrested under terror legislation after a passenger was killed when the taxi he was in exploded outside Liverpool Women’s hospital.

The men – aged 29, 26 and 21 – were detained in the Kensington area of the city and arrested under the Terrorism Act, police said.

Investigators believe it is unlikely that the explosion, shortly before 11am when the Remembrance Sunday silence was due to begin, was caused by a fault with the vehicle. The flames spread rapidly, engulfing the taxi in a fireball.

The cab driver, who managed to escape before the flames spread, has not been arrested. Police said he is in hospital in a stable condition.

Funnily enough it was the other way round for me, I remembered the Bugs Bunny cartoon but not the Tom and Jerry one - there were a *lot* of cartoons based around that basic plot of "Character tries to play bit of classical music", I assume because it was cheap to animate and the music was out of copyright.

As it happens I originally posted the Tom and Jerry one because that came up when I searched for the Bugs Bunny one and assumed it was a Mandela Effect thing, instead it just turns out Warner Bros' copyright attack dogs are slightly louder than Hanna-Barbera's.
