Sure, but are the state repressing people trying to turn their countrymen over to bankers and gangsters to rob everything they have, and oppress them? All it takes is one victory for them. Russia fell to a coup and now they will never have a socialist government again without another bloody revolution. You can never vote it back into place once the capitalists are in charge.

If Germany had used state repression against the literal Nazis, maybe things would have been different.

All that aside though, lmfao at believing a single word about Cuban police state repression printed in an american news source.

Every internet bill or initiative in the last forever has been the exact same cycle of handing a bunch of money to an ISP on the promise of better internet by [date], the ISP just cutting and running with the money, barely making even a token effort to fulfilling the promise, getting sued by the government, rinse repeat. You're never going to actually convince ISP's to build out decent broadband, let alone fiber, to rural and low density areas because the operating overhead for maintaining that remote infrastructure is abysmal.

The issue with almost all Democratic spending is that it comes in the form of subsidies for private enterprise.

It's part of why I try to emphasize to liberals that the Democrats will never do something that would hurt a segment of the private sector that they currently have good/neutral relations with. So they'll never provide services/resources in a form other than directly compensating the private sector.

... A few filmed themselves taking to the streets dressed in white as an act of protest ...
... posted a video of herself hanging white sheets outside her house as a symbol of freedom ...
... had planned to march alone holding a white rose ...

They already had a color picked out for their astroturf. I guarantee there are dozens of prewritten articles ready to go in support for Cuba's White Revolution. You would think at some point they'd realize color revolutions are too obvious and try something new, but maybe being obvious is part of the grift

Bittersweet because it's good to see not every member of the gerontocracy is planning to die in office consequences be damned but also stupid because the senate will obviously continue to not do anything but loot America and hand it over to capital

yeah I never believed that they would actually forgive anything or that it wouldn't be means tested to hell but I figured they have some kind of survival instict that would tell them "maybe we shouldn't make the one group of people that actually still like us start paying again right before the midterms" but I was wrong and these idiots want to lose, so I'm more than happy to give them what they want.

look the democrats relied on Stacey to gently caress up Georgia so they wouldn't have to deliver anything and she messed THAT up. They're not taking any more chances.
