So I've went and did some grinding alongside changing the player's affinities to one that doesn't have a Mudo weakness because I didn't want to lose my progress because I got instakilled by a Mudo spell again. Outside of that, I felt confident enough and went to take on the first Fiend in the game, Matador which I succeeded in beating him and unlocked him for Special Fusion which I immediately did since I'm around the level to fuse him. This makes him my first Special Fusion demon since I never bothered to fuse High Pixie. Anyway, the fight with him was challenging, even with a Jaki race Demon using it's Magutsuhi skill. I frequently got into low health, one of my demons ended up dying (and it was the healing one) and I ended up wasting a Phys Dampener because I thought he was going to use his physical unique skill after using the Critical Magutsuhi skill since the previous bosses always used their unique skills after that, I was wrong and ended up eating a Mazan. His next turn, he ended up using his physical skill and it killed off the demon that I previous mentioned.

Swapping demons taking a 1/2 turn (instead of a whole one) is a new thing right? I was wondering why MP pools seem so low in this one and realized the game is now balanced vetter around using your full demon pool, instead of just building three powerhouses and letting the rest wait around as fusion fodder

Endgame question. I already beat the game. I killed Lucifer and got an ending where the ex-Bethel leaders were floating in space. I've now gone back to do Belial's quest (the one where you meet him in Arioch's palace and he tells you to go kill Michael). Is this going to change the ending?

Gonna hope this doesn't count as spoilers because this is an advertised DLC boss, but: there's finally a video of someone beating Demi-Fiend on Hard and it's about as long a fight as you'd expect. It looks like they had to fuse a bunch of hyper-specialist demons who do like one thing and then have a shitload of passives to make that thing stronger and let the demons not get one-shot by everything. Just beat the final boss of the second area and had my first "SMT gonna SMT" moment - halfway through phase two my whole party got Marin Karined except for Parvati, who promptly died after being smacked by the MCs laser fingers when I asked him to use a dispel charm. Pretty sure the game felt bad for me though as the second time around he fired multiple bufulas into King Frost instead of my bufu weak PC and the second phase didn't even use his unique skill.

I think the biggest hit i managed on remotely even leveled enemies was a 3500 crit from Irishman. I need to get him high phys pleroma and the skill that increases crit damage but lowers non crits.

There was a surprising amount of care to give you the tools to beat him before completing the first part. I did the fight at level 20 and it was like a puzzle with a deadline to kill him before he charges Andalucia.

I am not sure if I will ever move on from the first unique skill the mc gets as 8 attacks with chance of crit is very hard to turn away from.

Demi-fiend is a legendarily hard superboss in Digital Devil Saga and by all appearances he's pretty much the same deal here. The same guy who made this video also did a clear on Normal first (he saved, lowered the difficulty, beat Demi-fiend, then reloaded his Hard mode save) and it took about half the time it looks like. I'm on the second area of Da'at and I'm starting to definitely notice that the Macca and Glory is adding up and I'm guessing it'll keep adding up until the end. Outside of that, I decided to give the ability of letting my demons use items and let me tell you, it definitely frees up my time and turns, especially if I'm doing Mitama grinding since those usually die via an elemental attack item.

Lvl 96 boss down! I feel like i should change my phys pleromas to almighty ones, Murakumo is just so goddamn strong. Also cheers for my lvl 87 Idun who accompanied me for 90% of the game.
