"people" do this, yes

They also did it for the star wars movies and stuff. It turns out when brand is your god you make pilgrimages.

All of the movies, even the bad Amazing ones, were huge blockbucksters. Far From Home made over a billion.

It's also because Maguire and Garfield are going to be in it. They've been trying to pretend to hide it for awhile which is pretty dumb because I would have showed them from the first teaser.

I "watched it" and turned it off after a bit. It is very boring. I guarantee that IF those numbers are real, then I'd count as having "watched it".

the thing thats really bugging me about the no way home trailer is that theyre really playing up the whole everybody irrationally hates spider man angle despite this not actually being true for any of the five spider man movies being referenced the villains all had distinct motives that had very little to do with spider man except to the extent that he kept insisting on getting in their way

its like they decided they were going to mash together an into the spiderverse style crossover with the sinister six movie theyve been trying to get working for the last decade and have been so unsuccessful in trying to find a way to make that work logically the trailer is forced to resort to promoting such exciting character beats as doctor strange being dedicated both to swearing and scooby doo references

I just saw Red Notice, it's exactly the kind of movie you'd expect it to be. The rock and Ryan reynolds play the one character they know how to play, and Gal...can't even manage that. But the action comedy routine is kinda funny so it averages out to an alright movie.

If you think Ryan Reynolds and the rocks schtick is entertaining it's an alright movie. If you don't there's literally nothing for you here

looking at the imdb cast I'm honestly shocked they brought in Foxx and Dafoe

going by the trailer I thought they were CGI/impersonator standins, like what they did with Hugo Weaving in Infinity War

Spider-Verse only worked because the suits weren't interested in a cartoon, and by the time they realized its potential it was too late to interfere

It's more fitting humor for someone to bring up the name when the tension is gone. Like if some citizens looking over a newspaper said 'The Vulture? What kind of name is that? A zoo mascot?', it'd be more amusing than a tension-breaking quip as the hero confronts the dangerous villain that was only written in because of Whedon Rot/attempting to make 'meme' scenes.

Spider-Man is supposed to annoy his enemies with quips, ribs, and insults, problem is MCU has no A material

disney had a not-owning-spider-man problem and sony had a spider-man-not-making-as-much-as-avengers problem so they teamed up. sony apparently gets most of the money for these individual films i think?

they worked out a deal because disney was running out of heroes to put in their marvel movies and couldn't use spiderman until sony failed so much with spiderman that they stopped making spiderman movies for a certain period of time and thus let the rights lapse. marvel basically bailed out sony and that lady who got in trouble for having her emails leaked a while back during the north korean hack. they instantly went into making their "spiderman" films like venom and morbius, which have all been extra poo poo but successful

Spidey thought

Hey Amy - just a couple of rando thoughts from 35,000 LAX-JFK:

- A rising trend we see with Millennials are the really extreme forms of experiential exercise like Tough Mudder (a sort of filthy triathalon), the Color Run and even things like Hot Power Yoga, veganism etc. Millennials will often post “N.B.D.” on their social media after doing it , as in No Big Deal, also known as the “humble brag”…..wondering if Spidey could get into that in some way….he’s super athletic, bendy, strong, intense….and it’s all NBD to him, of course.

- EDM (electronic dance music) is the defining music for Millennials. Wondering if there’s an EDM angle somewhere with Spidey? His movements are beautiful, would be awesome with a killer DJ behind it

- Snapchat just launched a “story” functionality, which is sort of “day in the life of me” told in a series of snapchats that expire after 24 hours. It has a very VIP quality about it, since invitation only. Getting invited into Spidey’s Snapchat circle would be huge, and very buzzworthy and cool.
