Not sure if "please trust me w/ the storytelling going forward to not indulge in typical tropes" should be read as "please trust that I will bring her back eventually" or "please trust that I am choosing to write the story this way regardless of existing tropes because I feel like the story I've created still has value regardless of the social reasons for this particular pattern," and I would be fine with either, tbh.

there’s lots of things i hold in lower regard to be sure but i will say people who have formed their entire concept of critical literary and media analysis by binge reading tv tropes are pretty far down there and abaddon has nothing to be contrite for on their behalf

I like how Incubus has probably succeeded in what he wanted to do, in the sense that this will almost certainly catalyze some serious change in Allison and lead to her harnessing the Master Key to go fully Super Saiyan He's also completely hosed
