Jack harlon live set. They get featured a lot on this channel but this is one of the better sets in terms of sound quality.

The channel itself is good if you want to explore the Australian metal scene.

The Melvins acoustic album is really good. Lots of very enjoyable Dale Crover drumming and the track selection is ridiculously broad.

Asva made at least 2 superb records, Futurists against the ocean and what you don't know is frontier. Fantastic live, I know they did a third record that I own but can't remember what it sounds like.

Growing's first few albums are great - not sure if they are metal but Soul of the Rainbow is a must listen.

There's Corrupted of course.

Scattered Purgatory are a really good as well, I only really know the last thing they put out but it's great.

Though it wouldn't be inaccurate to describe their sound as a French Windhand, I'm still happy to find out that Deathbell has a second album coming out. Less happy to find out it's gonna be on Svart Records, which means hefty shipping fees for the vinyl. Currently scheduled for release on February 25th of next year.

Did a search to see if anyone had posted about them, but one of my favorite doom go-to music is from a band called Witnesses out of NYC. It's basically a band built around one guy, that uses multiple musicians to do music that is different based on what release it is. His doom stuff really gets me, when I first came across the album Doom II. He likes to do his albums around a theme or story. That one is about a ship at sea that comes down with a plague of some type, and ends up crashing on shore near a remote village. Check it out if you get a chance, as he really just does it for the enjoyment. Donates a majority of the proceeds he makes off cd and vinyl sales to charities as well.

New Cult of Luna track & video released today:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0alDMvVk4jY

drat I'm a sucker for epic klaxon sounds. Also they're planning this:

quote:

About 'The Long Road North' game , by Linus Johansson / North Kingdom Greenhouse :

"The music video for Cold Burn is directed and produced by Noth Kingdom Greenhouse.
We have done many music video projects over the years, always aiming to find a unique angle.
With the brief we got from the band, we saw an attractive creative opportunity to explore what we believe will be the future of music video creation—combining music with real-time technology and interactive storytelling.
The video for Cold Burn will be followed by an immersive game experience where fans can immerse themselves in this unique visual world we created for the album called 'The Long Road North'

Building the experience in Unreal Engine allows us to invite fans as the hero of the story to explore the music video in their unique way.
The song is adaptive to how you navigate the world, so every time you play the music video game, you will get a different experience.
The project is an innovative collaboration between Cult Of Luna, North Kingdom, and Arctic Game Lab, and developed by a team of game designers, 3D artists, and musicians in the north of Sweden."

Thanks for posting this! I love comp albums of SDS bands from other countries.

I've already found a few duplicates from the Doomed & Stoned comps, but there's still so much I've never heard of.

I don't do spotify - or any online music offering. I'd probably save myself a lot of money if I did, but I like having my music "on hand" so to speak.

Spotify has its place. I buy what I love on bandcamp and put the WAVs on my Raspberry Pi+DAC hifi streaming box running volumio for home listening, but Spotify in the car/out and about is very handy.

and you can have offline files in spotify btw.

Did we discuss the new King Buffalo that came out last week yet? My view: it's good. https://kingbuffalo.bandcamp.com/album/acheron

I liked Burden of Restlessness fine but I was starting to think they'd never match Longing to Be the Mountain again. I think this is a better album though.

It’s still early so we will have to see how long I keep listening to it, but yeah, I really like this album. Pretty much everything King Buffalo puts out is awesome. Each track is somehow unique and great in its own way.
