Now this year rolls around, and we're prepping for Thanksgiving, and my mom has 12 boxes of mushrooms that need cutting. I tell her I'm happy to do them all. During the day I've been helping my pops who is a workhorse and 77 years old. Man does not stop working, so I try to do most things with him to help out so he doesnt over exert himself. My mom yells down to us that she's going to have her house keeper cut the mushrooms. I ask her to please wait because I'm helping Dad with housework. She says okay. However when I walk upstairs an hour or two later, all the mushrooms aside from 4 of the twelve boxes are cut.

I got really upset at my mom. She didnt need the mushrooms to cook with until tomorrow, she just wanted them pre-cut. I told her countless times that I wanted to be the one to cut each and every box. I started semi-yelling at her, and we got into an argument. I know it sounds like such a stupid thing to get upset over, but after asking multiple times to be left to do this one task I enjoy, and then be purposefully ignored, is frustrating...

edit: she did leave 4 boxes for me to cut, which I'm happy to still do, but it feels more like a pity consolation prize after not being heard out or listened to.

so AITA for yelling at my mom for not letting me cut mushrooms for thanksgiving after asking countless times if I could.

AITA? I’ve been patient but I’m fed up with this poo poo. My roommates are selfish assholes and have been since day one. Even in their interpersonal lives, I can tell they try to use their disagreeableness to get what they want, but it manifests in ways such as yelling at their girlfriends at the smallest things, insulting their superiors, etc.. they ARE assholes and I have no doubt about it. But is me texting complaints for the record an rear end in a top hat move?
