Dude, ix-nay on the oice-vay.

I’m guessing the bird is safe because it is deer season? I wouldn’t think it would be considered cool to kill a tiny bird with a massive, compound bow...

Hunters generally aren't out there plinking at every animal they see. I suppose drunken assholes might, or people who are starving, but most hunters are out there with specific types of animal in mind.

I am told that grouse is delicious. I've never had the opportunity.

I'm also told that while they're very hard to see, once you do see them you can basically walk up to them and catch them in a snare with your hands, because they firmly believe in their tiny brains that if they stay still, no one can see them. This often works very well in the woods, less so if they happen to be on the side of the road.

I'm going grouse hunting this weekend and if a grouse does that instead of shooting and eating it I'm gonna try giving it a hug.

I want to branch out and I'm going to stick with it.
So, back in August I started streaming on Twitch. As a bird.

And every stream I do a bird of the day. Each stream I talk about a different kind of bird. I've uploaded all of my bird of the day videos to a youtube playlist. Maybe you'll like em!

Judging by the size it's could be an Eurasian Eagleowl chick. I used to follow a russian lady on youtube having one of these in her apartment: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CEKr2L_LZ9Y

We get a fair amount in our yard (mixed in with the larger crowd of white-winged doves and the occasional ring-necked dove) and it's mostly that they are super stubborn about sitting at their spot whether that's on the ground eating what gets flicked out of the feeder, or on the feeder itself. The smaller birds can't edge them out because they just don't move lol.

Collared doves are fairly close to the top of my feeder pecking order.

This is only because they spend most of their energy chasing each other around in circles, so they don't have much time to notice other birds or indeed to even eat much of the plentiful seed available.

Our collared doves are the same, there's one guy who I swear never eats anything, he spends 100% of his time chasing the rest of the flock.

Reminds me of videos of Australian birds getting fed seed and a kookaburra shows up just to bully the other birds. Kookaburras are carnivores.

I know this fact, but in my mind, the only thing Kookaburras eat are the sausages that people feed them to make funny YouTube videos.

Man, more than half of those species don't live here, but at my stepmom's feeder it's the chickadees that dominate, until a woodpecker comes looking for suet. Possibly that's just because they hang out in little gangs and have numbers over the finches that visit.

They are a lot bigger than Mourning Doves and are invasive in the US so I’m not surprised they’re king of your feeder.

Dumbest: Mourning Dove

Cutest: Tufted Titmouse

Class clown: White-breasted Nuthatch

Best Defense: Northern Mockingbird (would harass and bother multiple neighborhood cats)

Best Offense: Blue Jay (once got a posse to scream at a Red-Tailed Hawk until it left)

Least Believable: Northern Flicker (oh you're a woodpecker that looks like a yassified dove and eats like a Robin? PICK A LANE!)
