Last week there was a girl trying to use one of those ride share scooters in front of my bar. She spent several minutes rocking back and forth while standing on it with the kickstand down. She then tried using the app to lift the kickstand still standing on it. Then the regulars at the front of the bar and I took bets on how long it would take her to figure it out. Came to about nine and a half minutes. I took a prop bet that she would just give up.

My great-grandfather built the family house on the farm in 1917. They added a Delco light plant in '20 and wired the house. He was a carpenter by trade and build many houses in the area. My grandfather lived his whole life in that house. There's a door upstairs that has no handle because it wasn't fitted correctly. Can't put in the handle and latch unless the door fits. There's power to a light fixture in another room that has no fixture. It's just bare wire. Fixing both of those problems could be done in less than an hour. Over 100 years and no-one has even considered fixing them. My uncle lives in that house now. He may have fixed it but I haven't been there since my grandma died years ago. Still, I could have fixed that door in minutes but never did. Neither did my grandfather. Neither did his father. My father never touched it either. My uncles never touched it. My brother didn't try to fix it. For some reason, we just never felt like fixing it. Just like the light fixture without a fixture. 10 minutes and that room could have had a nice light. Instead, we ignored it.

Sir, as part of DoE regulations, the only approved way of moving large amounts of sunshine is to can it and then move it by delivery plane, sub, or rocket.

And that's why decks and other surfaces should be in a safe condition (OSHA 1926.605(c)(2)) not at a dangerous grade due to a list to port, why a ships means of propulsion should be ready for immediate maneuver (at least in restricted visibility according to COLREGS rule 19), and why kitchen work and alcohol don't mix!
