I just remember Black on Both Sides being really great and then every Mos Def album after that getting worse and worse while he got into acting. I remember him also getting trouble about ranting about Jews on one of his records. We did get Reflection Eternal in 2000, though. Then Talib Kweli's descent into insanity was just slower.

i am halfway tru god emperor of dune and jesus christ why are all the dune sequels so loving boring and bad. 200+ pages and absolutely nothing has happened. i was told this one at least some weird poo poo to tide me over but so far its mostly just leto II being the loving worst. and not in the sense that hes some horrible tyrant, that at least would be interesting if the book leaned into that. hes just an annoying creepy little weirdo fucker and he sucks. i get that writing an omniscient god like character is hard but did frank herbert really have to settle on worlds biggest turd
