If anyone was wondering, yes he's that 20 year old dipshit who had a bunch of abuse, bullying, and revenge porn accusations come up when he was campaigning and his response was something like "yes I did that but it was a long time ago and I was a very different person" bitch it was 5 years ago.

right, local laws vary heavily depending on the jurisdiction and the wealth level of the accused. it's hard to draw a line that punishes predators while not criminalizing innocent teen sweaty fumbles this dude though straight up admitted that he bullied classmates into sending him more nudes else he'd leak the ones he had, and passed it off as 'that was so long ago, five years ago, in middle school, i was a different person'. not only is that still a really sick thing to do, it just emphasizes this dude was in middle school five years ago!

This is similar to the plot of a Cleveland Show episode, where Rallo took a picture of Cleveland Jr in the shower and worked it into Jr's scouts slideshow. Cleveland got the town cops and judge in on faking charges and sentencing in a scared straight scenario. So if Seth McFarlane covered it in some fashion, it's been an issue longer than you might think. I have no idea why I remember Cleveland Show in such detail.

That's kind of how it was back in the early days of sexting. I have very little knowledge about the current status, but a podcast I listened to a few months ago made it sound like courts have kind of figured it out and aren't as heavy-handed with charges like that most of the time (hopefully).
