It is actually pretty good, in my opinion. Loading screens are brief, the fidelity/detail isn't great but definitely passable. I play it and enjoy it a ton more than on the PS4

Quick Dark Souls question: Is it more cheat-y to summon some bros or to put down your own summon sign for bosses you haven't fought yet?

While I don't think summoning is cheating, putting your own sign to help others is basically a form of training and learning boss patterns

I'd say it's the true Chad option because then you can absolutely clown on the boss by yourself whenever, wherever and however once you've mastered its moveset. This type of practice is the trick to crazy runs like SL1 runs. Bonus points for jolly cooperation and just having a generally good time while you actively get gud

How is a standard feature of the franchise that the developers put in the game "cheating"

I guess I could see it maybe in the sense that I would feel like I cheated myself out of the experience of having to learn n master a boss before I get rewarded with more increasingly challenging content with new art assets. But that's only if you specifically care about getting gud. To me, it's a lot of fun getting past a hump but one of my friends considers it mental torture

Play how you like though that's why it's called play and not work

It's a neat little hybrid 2D action game with a rice raising sim. The basic gist is that you're a harvest goddess and raising rice is how you increase your stats to be able to fight off enemies and explore other areas. The better the rice, the stronger you get. The rice growing isn't exactly like other farming sims such as Harvest Moon. There's only one crop to raise, but the process is more involved (and is fairly close to what actual rice growing is like, to the point where one of the better "guides" out there on how to do that in-game is using a dedicated rice growing website.)

It's pretty neat and kind of fairly meaty, so at that price it's pretty good I would say.

The boss battles later on can get pretty involved but for regular battles you can just go nuts with the auto battle. Personally I find a fun way to approach that is to control the hero manually and have everyone else set to auto.
I do this for a lot of Dragon Quest games, they aren't hard and the AI actually tends to be decent at the games. Managing the AI settings to get what you want is kinda fun in its own way IMO, it feels more like you have a party of people and not a collective of drones.

Really loving bad. I hated the level design overall but if you like it then the performance might not ruin it for you. But the story level with a bunch of turrets that deployed from the floor, where you unlock the mech units took so drat long that I couldn't be bothered to do more

Once per turn, you can Tribute 1 WATER monster you control (except this card) to Special Summon 1 WATER monster from your hand. The monster Special Summoned by this effect is destroyed if "Raging Eria" is removed from your side of the field.
Putting down your sign and helping out other people as a summon absolutely felt like a cheat on the PC. I would only do it when I'm already confident with the boss in question, when I'm helping out other players and not getting many souls out of it, otherwise it's a shortcut for when you get stuck.

Jirard the Completionist took well over a thousand hours to 100% HWDE but that's because he's an insane person who decided "get everyone to level 255" was part of the 100% criteria (you only have to get one to 255 to get all the in-game achievements if you even care about those, since the achievements don't unlock anything).

Oh my god, I'm glad I broke that completionist part of my brain sometime in college. :stonk: I just don't have that kind of time and patience anymore. These days I play games until I don't feel like playing them anymore. That said, I still got a lot of time and enjoyment out of HyWar. Very good game. Highly recommended.

HWDE is my "I'm bored and I don't know what to play" game because I can just chip away at those Adventure Maps real slowly. I expect to die of old age with that game incomplete.
