Sure, the ocean is beauty wrapped in terror and covered in absolutely terrifying indifference to the lives of all who dare be close or enter, but I can’t stay away from it.

Funny enough on the Colorado chat, I hate living here. It’s gorgeous but it costs so much to live here if you aren’t in the literal middle of nowhere. My body can’t keep up with the outdoor activities so it really kills my desire to be here.

I'm solidly downwind of Groton, CT / New London etc so I figure in any real deal nuke scenario I get slammed hard with fallout on the same day. Kinda sucks, if I was closer it's not an issue, further, I might survive it.

I used to live immediately next to the Pentagon and Henderson Hall. I currently live nestled between Goddard Space Center and Ft. Meade. Honestly, it's more comforting than frightening. I would not want to be around for the canned sunshine after-party.

There are already a lot of native floridians in Colorado. They're even out here in the valley, because low land prices and relatively lenient building code along with the geographical isolation that conservatives like to call a "pocket of freedom." We even have an alligator preserve up here, those billboards are basically a warning that once upon a time a Florida man settled in the valley, and the UFO watchtower a few miles from that is probably indicative to the heritage of its' owners. You can't escape Florida, it's a state of mind. Spreading them out is the only way to dilute and maybe genetically drown out the Florida effect.

I like the outdoors stuff, but having to drive two hours and still risk waiting for parking at trailheads ruins it for me. I live in Greeley, and it's awful, but lol it's not like I can afford to move anywhere nice now. Also the 6 months if burning sucks poo poo. Gotta love new fire restrictions being placed in November too! As someone with no IRL friends locally those studies are kind of a bummer.

I liked Colorado Springs, to a fair extent. I do not like how it's become such a hot real estate and rental market. It has problems, but it's been a better city to me than anywhere in Tennessee. At least out here in the valley, I can save some money. I'll probably buy land in '22, and start building in '23, hopefully incorporating hempcrete and geodesic domes. There's not a lot of anything here, but it's dark, quiet, and there are wild horses. Also maybe aliens, it's the UFO spotting capitol of the country. maffew buildings posted:https://twitter.com/joshuapotash/status/1467253950864936970?s=21 I'm kinda curious if there's going to be a 1/6 anniversary gathering in DC. All those groups are probably thoroughly fedded out, like we know the proud boys are and the klan were. Yet they continue to operate normally and street violence is undeterred and unpunished, for some strange reason. If you're anywhere to the left of Mitt Romney, the FBI is not your friend and is not trying to keep you safe.

Oh, they definitely have a lot of chuds, but compared to places like Nashville and Memphis, it's practically liberal. Though working in the weed community there probably tilted my perspective of the city. There are nicer parts of town where the chud presence is pretty minimal, but the suburbs (Fountain, Security-Widefield, Falcon, etc) are chudded out to the extreme. Manitou and parts west of I-25 are probably the ideal lib/left friendly part of town, but is infected with gentrifiers and expensive as gently caress. It's basically anti-Boulder, more conservative than liberal, but still beautiful enough to not let politics become the dividing wedge.
