Years ago when I posted alot on the Acclaimed Music forums I made a list of artists who consistently put their albums in the top5 for their year: arguing that this showed that they were consistently great and also consistently better than their peers. There were several bands that had 2 in a row (Fleet Foxes, TV on the Radio, Jane's Addiction, Stevie Wonder, David Bowie, Bjork...there were around 20-25), a handful that had three (Radiohead, Dylan, LCD Soundsystem, Kendrick Lamar, maybe 1-2 more) one group that had four (Beastie Boys, although that isn't true now if you look at the current list) and then one who had five. The winner? Bruce Springsteen, from Born to Run to Born in the USA The Beatles would also have 5 if you exclude Magical Mystery Tour GoutPatrol fucked around with this message at 02:10 on Dec 15, 2021 |

Top 5 of what? Sales? Critics list? I suspect you mean the former, but just curious.

Yeah, the true run (personally) would be Gimme Fiction through They Want My Soul, but they made what feels like a conscious effort to burn off audience with Transference right in the middle there.
