She wasn't a big reader as a kid (while I was the type to devour every book I could get my hands on) and we could actually fight a lot, more than with my other siblings, but this was our thing that we had in common. She's a Gryffindor, I'm a Ravenclaw. I haven't really discussed Rowling's heel turn with her because I know she's genuinely still really emotionally invested in the books, but she's also not openly transphobic so maybe she just has a different way of processing it, and I'm a little afraid to bring it up.

All of east Asia getting one school is even dumber though, there's so much bad blood between those nations IRL plus the language and culture differences that make it super clear that Rowling made that poo poo up off the top of her head.
