I think it's not just student loans, which is materially relevant for college educated under-40s. And wouldn't be this slow, steady decline rather than suddenly right now. It's the entire dem absence of conviction. Everyone sees it. Even their loving January 6 obsession is half assed, and they aren't using executive authority to arrest tromp, just some lovely procedural subpoenas. They won't do anything and blame you for it.

The one thing Biden actually did (leave Afghanistan) was relentlessly poo poo on by his colleagues and the media

I think the media overplayed their hand with all the negative coverage of the Afghanistan withdrawal, leading directly into openly questioning Biden's senility in public. That opened the door for everyone to start complaining about the Biden administration - and it's just been betrayal after humiliation ever since then. All the weak scolding from Democrat dead enders is only making it worse.

Everyone under 50 is getting pissed because the Democrats aren't doing anything for the future. Y'know that Social Security that took care of your grandparents and your parents? gently caress you, you don't get that. Y'know that universal healthcare that everyone you meet from Europe gets and the US can afford? gently caress you, you don't get that. You want your kids to be able to go to college without having to be used and abused by the Army? gently caress you, you don't get that. You want any kind of social service that isn't going to be implemented at some indeterminate time in the future and isn't at the whims of your state's Republican legislature? gently caress you, you don't get that. And if the solution to the last one is to elect Democrats to the state house, well, if I had that kind of power then the rest wouldn't matter.

I think the Dems are guaranteed to lose 50 seats. That's a lock. Dems are losing popularity, also there is gerrymandering, suppression, etc. But there is also a new 'chaos factor' in which elections are not certified, votes 'disappear', etc., like blatant fascist stuff. This could make them lose even more. Any reasonable person would give a broad estimate of seats lost, perhaps 50-100 imo. also, lol:

Lol, road damage is overwhelmingly caused by freight transit, and other "heavy duty" vehicles. Gas taxes exist almost exclusively to create anti tax resentment. They should exist to disincentivize fossil fuel use, but are way way way way way way too low for that.
