Is it designers that can't stand asymmetry? Lots of cars now have fake double exhausts, where only one is actually connected to the engine.

So my current phone is acting stupid and also going to be dropped from my provider's network soon, and the Pixel 5a is about the closes to what I want, but still on the large side. Is there really anything comparable under six inches? At first glance my best options seem to be finding a used 4a, or going to an iPhone, and I'm really not keen on migrating to a new ecosystem.

Does anyone have a suggestion for a screen protector for a pixel 6 Pro? The one I ordered from Amazon that said tempered glass and thumbprint was plastic and the thumb part was the only part that sticks to the screen and makes it look really bad. It's trash.

There's also the Asus ZenFone 8 which is about the same size as the Pixel 5 with higher spec internals. https://www.theverge.com/22431051/asus-zenfone-8-review You are just trading camera quality and unclear update policy for the specs with compared to the Pixel.

Wife's Google stand 2 arrived. It's nice, smaller than expected and smaller than the stand 1. Hard to be impressed by 23w wireless charging now though since my wireless charger is 45w and half the cost. (30w max on the Find X3 Pro)

It's Android Central, so 'many' probably means a handful of reddit users doing unscientific reports. Seems perfectly fine to me after the update. Just checked and 460mbps on T-Mobile in my living room.

Best Buy has been throwing open box Pixel 4a 4Gs on bestbuy.com occasionally. I ordered a barely blue one in "excellent" condition for $287 plus tax earlier this week. you have to scroll down and open up the Buying Options section to see if there are any available, which wasn't clear to me when i was checking a month ago. nothing on there this morning, but it may be worth a look before you order something else i didn't even want to buy a new phone (and especially not a massive phone), but it seemed easier than loving around getting a battery replacement for my pixel 2 without an alternate phone on hand

Any way to stop the screen on my Pixel 6 Pro from seemingly waking for loving nothing? I'll have the phone sitting on my desk, black screen, and then it flips on for (????????). I'm guessing maybe there was an update to the Weather widget or something idiotic like that but it's profoundly distracting. For clarity this is still the white-on-black (i.e. shows time & notification icon but not the normal display with wallpaper and full notifications stuff).

I'm having weird screen things with my Pixel 4a. Sometimes it will look like it stays on, but will go to the lock screen when I pick it up (showing whatever was on the screen for everyone to see). Sometimes it will go to the lock screen, but will keep showing the keyboard (usually when I was typing in Discord). I've also had YouTube go to picture-in-picture when not playing a video and often I will press the power button with the video playing and it will continue to play audio with the screen off until I try to unlock the phone (I don't pay for premium).

Not to open a can of worms but it blows my mind that a phone with a 6" screen is considered a "mini" these days. My Pixel 3A is getting really weird lag all over the place. The oddest is when I am on a phone call and have to press numbers, like to enter my social security number before the bank connects the call or whatever. I'm not kidding when I say that I will press a number and there is a literal 4 second lag to when the number is actually pressed. It messes me up all the time because I have no idea what I pressed and I wait so long the automated menu usually times out! It's driving me nuts, even though the rest of the phone is fairly lag-free. I don't understand how the phone can run Playstation 1 games at 60 fps but it can't handle pressing a touch tone button. Anyway I recently dug out my old Droid Mini and I just couldn't get over how much I love(d) that phone. It was the absolute perfect size to me. If I were to look for a new phone today, is it possible to get one the size of the Droid Mini? I don't care if it's some no-name questionably fly-by-night company, I can't stand not being able to reach the top left of the screen with one hand (I remember audibly yelling "YES!!!" when Apple had that commercial making fun of phones where you couldn't reach everything with your thumb. I think it was the iPhone 5 ad?). I don't even care if it's not going to get updates; I'll install Lineage on the drat thing if I have to. My only requirements would be: fairly reasonable RAM/CPU, 64gb of storage minimum, rear fingerprint reader, and rootable. Does this exist? I know it's not going to be a major manufacturer, but considering you can get Android devices in almost every ridiculous configuration imaginable, I was hoping something like this existed somewhere.

It took me a while to figure out what was doing it. It drove me nuts. I even had the settings specifically in the app to "never wake screen" and that piece of poo poo app still did so I uninstalled it and never used it again and it completely went away. I've never had that issue again. So maybe it's Snapchat if you have that installed. hooah posted:Man, I feel like I've gotten far more light scratches on my Pixel 5 than any previous phone.
