We'll see this is the problem Web 3 solves. Right now the web is too accessible to the poor, people whose opinions have no value. What if we reshaped the web so only successful rich people or people who bought into the correct techno-libertarian thought could post content online? Wouldn't things be better?

[stamping foot] That comment doesn't count because you didn't post it on Web3, the only place that matters. [others ignore this; foot stamping intensifies] It doesn't count! It doesn't! If only you knew how stupid you look!

i wouldn't think it's funny if my company decided to get involved with some semi-illegal crypto poo poo

i mean at the very least now you are the poor fucker who has to send every possible personal identifying information to some exchange in order to be able to get your bonus as a real money

at least bitcoin exchanges are known for their rock solid security and refunding practices :)

funniest outcome, he has to explain where the coins came from to exchange them for real money, which triggers an IRS investigation into his boss

edit: actually that might be a way to force his hand into giving you real money, tell him "by the way I use coinbase and they are really strict about origin of coins, is it fine with you that I tell them that I got it as a bonus for working at XXX?"

yeah even in this basic scenario, it's definitely a good thing for the business that you depend on for your paycheck to be subject to an IRS investigation. there is no way this can end badly

rrrrrrreally curious to know what OP's W-2 looks like in a month and a half, if they live in the US. not putting it on there would be obvious tax evasion, but putting in on there is gonna be a PITA and piss off a bunch of employees, so, either way it should be entertaining

yeah it’s fine taxes will just be implemented as a smart contract.

what do you mean because of a bug someone was able to claim negative $12 trillion in income and siphoned off all of this year’s tax revenue?
