Maybe Enami had the intention of small selection of colors, but in practice it ended up ballooning in to a larger number. It's also possible I lost something in translation here. In Japanese Enami says 「ここからさらに細かく色分けする。」"Koko kara sarani komakaku irowake suru." "From here, we will color code more minutely/finely." Perhaps I should have translated this as "let's expand on the color classifications we have here." That might line up better, because in the the very next comic he tells the "most oblivious man" (thank you to the goon that coined that name) that his aura is pink. When I have the time I'll go back and revise it to clarify that confusion.  More translation and color talk: Since color is tied so close to culture and language, translating about color and their cultural/social relationships can be its own can of worms. In Japanese, the color we call lilac or light purple is 薄紫色, usumurasaki-iro, literally "weak purple", and in Japanese, saying someone has a "weak face" is the same as saying "plain face" or "a face without feature or presence". Easy enough. While in America we think of raccoons as being mostly grey, in Japan the tanuki or Japanese raccoon-dog has more brownish coloring. 茶色 cha-iro "brown" literally means "tea colored" and consequently it's associated with a lighter shade of brown than the deep, earthy color you probably think of when you hear "brown".

 Boring translation stuff for nerds: How Enami arrives at yellow works a little differently in the original Japanese. He thinks 「こいつは天然パーマ、天、天気、黄色だな。」"koitsu wa tennen paama, ten, tenki, ki-iro da na." "This guy has naturally curly hair, the heavens, weather, it's yellow." He's basically going through a mnemonic based on the many meanings and combinations of the character 天 (most often read as "ten" and associated with the heavens and sky) in order to remember the color yellow. 天然パーマ "tennen paama" "naturally curly hair" comes from "tennen", "natural or spontaneous" and "paama", "a perm". From here he moves to 天気 "tenki" "the weather". With the ending "ki" being the outlier, he decides on 黄色 "ki-iro" "yellow".
