I get it, especially the fact that there's simply a floor of support and that combined with the internalized concept that there are only two options. Still, even with those two facts in play, I'd expect it to read as "even by the standards of this is a democrat and I will always support democrats in opposition to republicans, do I think that this democrat is doing a good job?" and by that measure I'd say no, he's not. I mean to say I'd expect Biden voters to see that even by their expectations he's doing a poor job, even if they still feel that any other alternative is probably worse.
