always interesting to see the expat variety of 'hmm, my life got a bunch better after i moved to other country so it can not be bad' guy lol it reminds me of like engineers and other well off ppl from pakistan that get well paying jobs in the UAE and other places around there saying wow its so great, which i guess it is in comparison, but like what about the slave laborers building the soccer stadiums and skyscrapers and stuff tho

Yeah statistically Japan is extremely homogenous despite having one of the most severe demographic crises in the world. Between 97-98% of the the population is ethnically Japanese and there are strongly assimilationist policies in place. Also, housing has been getting cheaper because there just isn’t enough people left. Russia is xenophobic as gently caress (that’s another post) but is comparatively much more diverse.
